NEW USPS SHIPPING RATES

    So did stagecoaches, railroads, telegrams and prospectors. None of those industries got special treatment into the modern day. They were forced to adapt or die. Many of them died off, some survived (see Wells Fargo today).

    As for the cost of doing it, the USPS is heavily subsidized by every single one of us. If the USPS is so efficient, why is UPS/FedEd legally prohibited from carrying mail? Surely they would have no problem competing equally without legislating away competition?

    Most of the USPS is just another welfare-type program where underperformers are tenured in and get a decent paycheck without having to really do much.

    This has been driving me crazy.

    I am in charge of managing our ebay accounts and now that the shipping rates have been altered I can't just change the price on the items we're selling. In order to do so I have to end the item, relist, change the shipping, price, and then submit it. Keep in mind we have about 600 parts. Talk about wanting to tear your hair out on a Monday morning. DAMN IT!

    just sold a bottle of water wetter on ebay. Shippping was $7.50 for a 12oz bottle some bubble wrap in a small cardboard box. I ended up making about $2 this time. =(

    They know that 20 years from now--the letter mailing business will be obsolete!! Everything will be done online--No letters, bills, etc.. They are getting what they can to fund there retirement system while they can...
