Having read the many threads on this subject, Im still rather confused.
What would be a definitive upgrade for a Mondial 3.2. The lights at the moment are the OEM dim effort of a light.

What lights would be suggested that could be a direct replacement.

What lights could fit in the holding pod but would require repalcemant wiring loops?

Or do all replacement lights require a wiring upgrade?

    Any help really appreciated

    Thanks folks

    You have three possible options:

HID (Arc) Lamps -- requires rewiring because has special power supply to initiate the arc and then control the current.

Halogen (big power) -- no new power supply needed, but requires relay addition/rewiring because of high lamp currents (although some do this without rewiring and take the added risk).

Halogen (same power as stock) -- no rewiring, but the smallest improvement.

If you search on something like "Halogen H4", "HID", Halogen H1", etc., you should get most of the relevant prior threads. I opted for Halogen H4 on my ex-308 to avoid rewiring as well -- much, much better (and I really liked the flat, non-crosshatched lenses), but they're not like these (overbright and rude to other Drivers IMO) modern HID systems.

The Mondial T ellipsoid halogens should be a bolt-on direct replacement. Having had a 3.2 before my T, I can assure you that you will "see" the "night and day" difference.
