Playstation 3 or X box ?

I have a Wii, XBOX360 and my buddy has the PS3. I'm planning to get the PS3 myself in a few weeks (soon as I find a wheel I like) and have no bias one way or another to any system.

It seems most people who suggest the PS3 are saying things about what the future brings. Facts are there are way more games for the 360 than for the PS3, and it will likely remain this way. I disagree that the "true power" of the PS3 has yet to be unlocked. The specs on the system are the specs. There are already games out that chug along at some points of high detail. It's not like the developers don't know how to use the hardware. The only potential difference to come will be in innovative gameplay, but that is hardware independent.

The Wii is the best party system by far. It is always the center of any get-together at my house, regardless of whether it's my cousin and her kids (4yrs to 11yrs) or whether it's my friends coming over for a drink. The Wii is just amazingly *amazingly* fun to play for groups of people. For solo play, it's fun, but it does tend to feel like "work" sometimes to play a game. A bad control setup for a Wii game can make an otherwise good game not fun. Not so on the PS3/360.

The 360's graphics are on par or arguably better (in real life) than the PS3. The games selection is bigger for the 360 Price is better for XBOX too.

I personally think the PS3 is the big flop in this round of the console wars. It won't recover, so it won't have the same number of titles coming for it as the 360 will.

And GTA4 will be simultaneously available for PS3 and XBOX360

The only reason at the moment that would make me want the PS3 is for the Formula 1 Championship Edition game. But I don't want to shell out six hundred bucks for the system another sixty for the game and then another hundred and fifty for the wheel.

 

Who plays single player games anymore?




Gran Turismo will have better graphics, but you don't play graphics

 

Anyone got Lost planet?

It doesnt give me the option to play online (the tab doesnt light up).

I just got a PS3 today and got Motorstorm, even on a crappy TV. The graphics are superior to those on the 360. I only have a few complaints, but some of them will be resolved. Currently the game choice for PS3 is horrible, the system feels way too heavy, it feels twice as heavy as my 360. I am still trying to justify spending $600 on a videogame system. For that price I am surprised that it does not include the wires to hook up the system to HDTV which came with my 360. As for the 360, the graphics are still pretty impresive and the game choices are better, especially with Forza 2 coming out. For now I am going to have to say that the 360 is the better value. My opinion may change once more games come out for the PS3.

A question for other people with the PS3, is the F1 game worth the money.

to say one is better than the other is like saying C# is better than VB or French better than English.... it's just a matter of what's done with it.

anyhoo, personally i'll DEFINITELY be getting the PS3 once the next Gran Turismo comes out, but i also want an Xbox but don't have the time to devote to playing games to justify it just yet. :/

Wii is an absolute must for anyone that has visitors more than once a year (i only *just* fit into this category), it's like monopoly and hungry hippos and pictionary and charades and twister all rolled into one. but it's about as fun as chewing your boss's toenails when you're by yourself.

 

For me. . .

I won't buy anything that doesn't have Gran Turismo.

But, I'm not going to sink hundreds of dollars into something that has no significant games for it yet.

Once GT5, Grand Theft Auto, and Metal Gear come out I may be more willing to grab a PS3, but it's still hard to spend six benjamins on a system I'll only be playing a few hours a week.

I'm still happy with my PS2

 

Yeah Forza Motorsports 2 is comeing out may 29 th im going to get it ive been waiting for this game a while. on www.ign.com i search'd forza motorsports 2 and i saw some of the videos the graphics look awsome...

 

I have a 360. Its a mixed bag really I mean this thing is expensive and it broke (under warranty thankfully)!!!! however I've enjoyed it both on and offline. I've played it a great deal (PGR, GOW, etc etc) and with Forza 2 coming this month and halo in a few months I'd say its a good buy.

The PS3 is the superior machine in terms of power and style but until they get some better games going and lower the price tag I'm not buying

I haven't managed to get my 360 voice chat to work either, other than that it all works though. Don't really miss the voice chat that much as long as I can play online and download things

They have a forza 2 demo for download btw guys

i am in the same boat; i want a next gen console. i have pretty much settled on the 360, because most of my friends have it, its a lot cheaper, the graphics difference is negligble at best, the controller is way nicer, and it has more games as well as more of the kind of games i want to play. i love gran turismo and thats the only reason i considered the ps3, but now that forza 2 is almost out, i think i'd rather be playing that. plus live is so far superior to the playstation network. when i want gran turismo, i'll just play my ps2, gt4 is good enough for me.

 

I have owned since the day that they were released. The PS3 is great fun with the F1 game, but it really lacks in terms of online capability. Xbox Live is 10x better any day of the week and the Halo 3 Beta has been great so far.

 

I hold it down still with N64. Nothing beats multiplayer Goldeneye.

 

Please tell me you have Mario Kart 64. I just played that last night with a few of my friends for about 2 hours. Never got boring.

As for this console war, my bro has a 360 and I use it frequently. Forza 2 is pretty beast, and other games such as Need for Speed: Carbon, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Crackdown, Halo 3 demo are always a plus. Online is awesome too.

I haven't played PS3 except at Best Buy for about 3 minutes, but all I can say is that I'm not impressed. I am however a huge fan of GranTurismo 3 and 4, which in my eyes is far better than any Forza game.

I suppose 360 would be good for short term purposes since PS3 needs to start pumping out some good games.

 

Our kids have PS3, XBox 360 and the Wii. I went yesterday to Toys'r Us on Times Square in NYC and was surprised that there is no selection for the PS3.

Our oldest son (12) prefers the XBox, since it will let him talk with his friends online while he is playing. My other boy (10) has no friends online and prefers the Wii.

Nobody touches the PS3.

 

I say PS3 just because it runs F@H

Whenever I am done playing F1, I just turn Folding at Home on and leave it on for hours. It's a great idea.

I like Gran Turismo and I like Project Gotham Racing. Actually had no choice but to get both system


The REAL sucky thing about the 360 is; a) No HDMI which means no 1080p and high res. audio support, OK the Elite has arrived but it sucks for me because I got mine in the beginning. b) No built in HD-DVD in the new Elite. It would really have made the 360 complete.
