The Enzo Ferrari is NOT the F60.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enzo_Ferrari_%28car%29

"The Enzo Ferrari is sometimes referred to incorrectly as the Ferrari Enzo and also F60 (this is false given the F60 would be an anniversary car for 2007 rather than 2003). The model name of the car is Enzo Ferrari, and the maker is Ferrari. When combined, this gives a full make/model name of Ferrari Enzo Ferrari.

The car is named after the company's founder, Enzo Ferrari."

the Enzo is the Enzo, and the F60 will be the F60, should it come out.

the reason so many people gets confused between the Enzo and the F60, is because, prior to the official launch, most magazines that has spy shots started to call it the F60, and when Ferrari launched it, they called it the Enzo, shocking lots of people.

Jeremy Clarkson calling it the F60 on Top Gear while running a show on the car didn't help either...

... is because as it was the next supercar from the line up F40, F50 the media automatically dubbed it the F60 even before it was unveiled. Which was, as stated above, incorrect.

    Just remember the GTO
then arrived the GTO Evoluzione which was the F40 test Mule
    Then arrived the F40

Now remember the IMSA 333sp Racer
V12 from the 1992 F1 Ferrari race car...
    then you've got the F50
    and later the F50 GT1

So i believe that we have the same history here...

So we have Enzo (codenamed FX when the prototype was launchen on 2003 tokio motorshow)http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupe/112_0205_ferrari_enzo

And the FXX Wich may be the base for the upcoming F60

another thing to consider, the ferrari F40 was launched at frankfurt autoshow, so the F60 Maybe launched at the time

    about the specs?

I don't think that will be crazy as something with 800 bhp to compete with bugatti

    Ferrari does not need that,

maybe lighter weight, faster transmision, 4wd (connect-disconnect setup as the supposed 4wd from the upcoming 612M) and the fact that only 300 or so are going to be the lucky ones to have it...

Just think of it as a FXX homologated to the streets, with about 100 BHP less (due to ambient regulations) but packed with the same essence in a better looking body (designed by the masters of pininfarina of course)

Now, as the buggatti is a great car, and indeed the most powerful car ever... it's not a true sports car, its a truck with a locomotive engine attached to it, so with 1000 BHP, hell... you have to be very fast... you have to have the king kong version of a good sport transmission, and shure you are going to be the center of the attraction... but bugatti has allways been that way, (does the "royale" name reminds you something?) bugattis have allwas been supercars for royalty and for über rich people, and the had a racing pedigree, by the time whe ferrari dominated motor sports, bugatti had passed away...

Ferrari cars are for purist, for people who knows that ferrari is the ultimate sports car brand, now porsches and astons are affordable cars, you dont have to wait 3 years to get your 911 carrera, or your vanquish S, but with ferrari, you have, and its ok, because, the really good things in life, takes a little time...

.. plus Luca diM stated that at Frankfurt '07 Ferrari will unveil something very expensive. Now what can be considered "very expensive" by Ferrari terms? ;)

On the other hand I wonder how the sales will look. The F50 already had that lease program (I might be wrong on this one though), the Enzo you had to be invited to buy... I wouldn't suspect the F60 is going to be sold on a "who's first" basis. In that case shouldn't there be leaks from prospective buyers already?

If the Enzo is the F60, then the 288 GTO is the F30?

    I don't think so....:)

The Enzo was for sale in 2003, 4 years before the official 60 year anniversary. So technically, 2007 should see the unveiling of the offical F60 supercar.

    Hi,

According to this paper, http://www.speedorado.com/forum/ftopic2782.html, the new F60 will arrive 2009. However, as I can not read German, I have my concerns with regards to the original source of the story.

    Anyway, here is a pic.

By the way, many journalists called the Enzo for the F60, .....but that was in 2002.

    Regards Patrik550
