I think the body of the 355 is better. But, Gerald Rousch told me 30 years ago "always buy Ferrari's newest Technology". The last part of a year can be better than the first part. So, always push ahead. Once you have a 430 you can't want to go back to a 355. Same with the 2002 S55, the new "plain" S550 is better. And free advice is worth what you pay.
If a car withstands the test of time and is still admired by the masses, it's not dated, it's a classic. The 355 will be cherished for years to come! I don't see any similarities between the 355 and the MR2, at all. Nothing between them is close to being the same. What made you think they could be comparable?
drove a 360 around for a few days, would only want a 360 cs. i love the 355, always have... 360 is better because it is newer, just like the 430 is better. The voting is even, amazing I wanted more torque out of the 355, so i bought a 550 to satisfy my craving for poweeerrrr!
355tb It just drives better in my opinion. Also, I would be embarassed to use the 360 horn. 355 is the last one to get the FIAMM Serie 2000 airhorns, the Ferrari sound!
porsche had this debate then realized the punters prefered the 933 looks coz the 996 looked like a cheaper boxster thats why the 997 looks as it does today nice! ferrari didnt make this mistake with the 360 in my view to many cars copied the look of the 355 so they moved the goal posts its the best looking car to date the next to f430 better again
I have to agree. The 355 was the last car they made before the infection of the various esoteric computer crap designed to remove one from the driving experience so that your average Hollywood twinkletits could drive the thing. Even the 355 got the cancer that was the F1 flappy paddles, but it was fortunately a limited outbreak, unlike the 9 out of 10 cars today nonsense. 355 looks better, and sounds much better, in my opinion. Who cares about maintenance? It's a Ferrari. If it isn't in pieces, in the shop, on a flatbed, or on fire, count yourself fortunate and drive it like you stole it.
The 360 is a better car, but I like the looks of the 355 better. I'd had both, and the 360/430 models are much better cars, much less maintenance issues, better performance, and quite a bit more comfort. The 355 didn't come with tracton control, but needed it, I can't count the times that I got sideways with it (usually in damp conditions), doesn't happen with the 360 or 430. Progress isn't always pretty. Art
LOL - Automobile magazine had a cover with both cars shown that highlighted a huge number of similarities years back. It very much made it look like Toyota used the 355 as a crib sheet to design that version of the MR2.

I love the 355. It's a timeless design and I feel like it was the last production Ferrari that was totally exclusive. In saying that I mean it wasn't being rapped about and glorified by all of these Paris Hilton and 50 cent types.

The 360 Spider top is vastly superior to the 355 with a toneau cover. Looks better, works better. And I still like the window over the engine. Fabulous.

No doubt, the F355 hands down as far as looks and sound. The bubbly styling of the 360/430 was a step backwards IMO. The CS does look best though, and that should have been the front end used on all 360's. Image Unavailable, Please Login
