I was wondering if I'm one of the only people that gives their car a name?

It's strange... the name usually comes to me during the first full wash/wax session...

With my 308,... the name is Rosalia...

Anyone else find themselves naming their car?

I recall another fellow recently introduced his 328 here as Roxanne. I am not sure I can go quite to the extreme of naming my car. We usually do have nicknames for our cars - my STI is the blubaru (certainly not the first one to call one that). Referring to "the Ferrari" sounds a bit pretentious, so I sometime just say "the red car" or "the 308."

My first car, a little brown Spitfire, I named "Bridget". But since then haven't seemed to feel the need. I've been calling the 308 "The 308" not "The Ferrari" because, in my mind, it's a 308 first and a Ferrari second.

I had a 1954 Chevy p/u a long time ago named "lurch". The clutch was bad and I started off in granny gear at idle to get it going.

"Lurch" is a GREAT name for a truck.

I've never been able to imagine people's names for cars. I think of them more like (somewhat) faithful dogs. Only two cars I've had ever developed names, one was the generic "Oldsmobuick" a reference to it's anonymity from the movie "Fletch". The other was a Ford Festiva that we used to call "la Pinata" cuz it looked like it was strung up and repeatedly whacked by blindfolded children.

We name all our cars. This is just a few. It has been a family tradition and quite the process when we pick it.

my old motorcycle - Rhonda (yeah, she was a Honda)

my old Chevette - the 'vette (had a girl beg me to take her out when she heard I had a 'vette'. Was disappointed when I showed up in the Chevette! Served her right though.)

most of my cars have been named after the color.... the blue car, the green car, etc.

The 328 is affectionately called 'the little red car' or Isabella.
