I like the 1990's 355 better, but the 360 (and then 430 without belts) had the engineering of a modern car without all the little things that break.

I'm just glad they started making the 355 again. I'd take this 2007 355 with 500HP :) (looks like the V10 takes-up a little more room in the profile, but for all the extra HP it doesn't change the lines of the car that much)

Looks like Lambo picked-up and up-dated the car, when ferrari walked away from the 355 shape and went the direction of the 360

Mark, love the G-Spyder but the 355 has the flowing bonnet line of the Boxer/308 school of styling. Lambo always seems to go with stubby flat noses now (or at least from the Countach through now) -- look dramatic, but without the fluidity or grace of the Boxer/308/328/348/355 front ends.

IMO, the look is extremely different. The 355 also has the horizontal belt-line started with the Daytona and continued with the Boxer/308/328. Designers seem to think upswung belt-lines are more dramatic, but the perfectly horizontal ones are quite stark and give these cars a real purposeful stance.

EDIT: I admit I do like the Gallardo's see-through engine-bay deck better than the fastback/hatchback-looking arrangement on the 360. What can I say, I love buttresses! ;)

Two completely different cars....looks are totally different, just park them next to each other...I did it the other day, my spider next to my buddy's new Gallardo spider. Same thing with the sound, handling and performance, completely different cars.

360 is a better car in every way IMO.

360 is a better car, but half the reason I bought the 355 is because it looks and sounds so great.

    I'm sticking with my 355.

++ on that. I even like the 348 Spyder a lot better than the 360 just on looks. And with an old-fashioned gated shift, please.

    funny thread.

Get em both. make 1 a Challenge Stradale and the other a 1995 F355 GTS.

btw There is no real way to compare them. Apples and oranges.

For the record, I think the 360 CS is a FAR better looking, better sounding and better handling car than the regular 360.

I thought about both when I was in the market. I don't argue the 360 is a "tighter" construction, more reliable, mechanically more sound. Ultimately for me it came down to a more viseral/emotional set of criteria and the 355 became the clear winner because of that. The 355, IMHO, is the last of the "I can't stop staring at it" Ferraris (other than the F40 of course).
