Same as my 308 QV, has been since the day I got her. Named after that other beautiful Italian redhead, Sophia Loren.

Also my wife's '67 Jaguar = Millie. (Her choice, not mine).

308GT4: Luigi, which in itself is a funny name, since she is a lady, and Luigi is a bloke's name.

BMW 330D: Heinrich, a very German name for an oh so German car

My little homebuilt aircraft (a Jodel): Josephine

Josephine actually is alive. We talk, and she's saved my bacon on a number of occasions. Once by throwing tiny little freak malfunctions at me during my pre-flight checks until I finally understood what she was trying to tell me - she didn't want me to fly. Interestingly, by the time I would have been due for landing, a non-forecasted weather change would have given me so much crosswind that I would likely not have been able to land safely...

Luigi still is just a car, I am afraid. We will need to get used to each other a bit more before we actually start talking. We DO already have a lot of fun together though....

    :D

There are politically incorrect reasons for each of those names, which are better left unexplained - use your imagination.

Well I might be close... I call my 308 "Benito". It developed that nickname while I was working on it. But "My Ferrari" is another great nickname! It just sounds so good rolling off the tongue.....

My (non brand-related) garage guy (driving a BMW himself), uses to compare current BMW's to old Alfa Romeo's as far as reliability goes.

I'm afraid I have to agree with him. I've got far more issues with my BMW 330 than with the Dino. Electrical crap, mostly. The current trick is that my windshield wipers break down once in a while, only to come back on after 10 minutes or so. Plus the headlights quit from time to time (one at a time, thank god). It is still leaking when it rains and the check oil idiot light comes on every time, despite plenty of oil.

    Total crap....

    but this is all off-topic.

Funny that your -year old daugther named your GT4 the same as I did mine...

Boats have female names, so I gave my car a male name: "Tazio" as in Tazio Nuvolari, one of the great early Ferrari racing drivers.

I call it "my little car"

My wife calls it "the big, dark, sucking black hole of money and dreams"... she actually makes a good point there...
