Its TransAm based, those where the most disgusting kits ever built. Why would anyone try and sucker anyone with that kit? we all know its front engined and ferraris front engined cars look much better than that.

A 308 doesn't have four seats, nether does a Fiero so its a dead give away that its Fbody based.

Fitting soundtrack: "Take me away from here. The tears I cry inside." :)

About 95% of the population. Let's face it, most people don't give a darn, a few are intersted in cars beyond a means of transportation, but are clueless and of the few that care and know their stuff, well, that's a small minority they encounter.

Last time I had to take my 308 (with proper badges front and rear) to the EPA test, the kid to whom I handed the keys looked at the car and yelled excited: "Wow, a Lamborghini!" And the car was there in front of him and this is somebody who obviously works with cars on a daily basis and even seems to like exotics.

So while we all might rip our hair out on here, most folks out there won't question replicas as the Peugeot 360 et al. And an even bigger percentage won't even care.

ISTR there was a link posted once on Fchat to a site with photos of all the most outrageous MX5/Miata bodykit 'replicas' ever, but was it in this thread or another one? I can't find it now, and I need a good laugh on this wet Monday............

I admit I'm not well versed in the excrutiating minutia of the Beemer, but I can't really tell from that photo whether or not it's fake. Meh. An E36 M3 can be had for chump change anymore, so what's the point of faking it?

A real M3 has the gills on either side of the front fenders. Also the way the rear wheels stand out when looked at from behind is a lot more aggressive than on a regular 3 series Beemer.

Don't even get me started on Porsche guys adding fake 911 turbos wings...
