Ok, so while the car is parked they are all there...I've counted them!

But seriously, at high load/rpm I have a noticable misfire that comes and goes in only the sort of way an electrical problem denotes. Problem is it runs fine at low load/high rpm when I can put a timing light on it.

It's got to be ignition, any clues?

Don't know if you're experiencing the same symptoms as I was, but my car used to fall flat on its face north of about 5,000-5,500 RPM. I installed 2 new ignition coils, and now it wants to pull all the way to the moon, though my comfort zone ends at 7,000. ;)

Are you still using points or electronic ignition?

Coils are a good bet. The faster the engine goes, the more difficult it is to maintain spark.

Thanks for the replies. It still has points ignition, I'd like to go electronic at some stage though.

The coils do look pretty old, whereas the leads etc are very new.

Probably bad. I had one og intermittnet and needed to be replaced. Once done--huge difference. I have the NEW spare just in case the other one went BUT no longer own my car.

I would think that your extenders are breaking down or your wires are breaking down under load. I would check them 1st then also change your condenser's too.
