So, what's a brotha gotta do to get DetailGuy to come to PA???

 

Hey"detail guy" I have a shop located off rt 141 and I-95 in Wilmington De.It is where I keep my small car collection. Its not a place of business so no promotion intended here.Probably 20 minutes North of the MD/DE line Tollbooth. If I were to pick a day for a car guy/girl get together would you come and do some demonstration of techniques in detailing? Who would be interested in coming? Obviously some would have conflicts but curious as to the interest. My shop can hold six cars so the detailing demonstration would take place indoors. Parking outdoors on a Saturday for probably 20 cars minimum. PM me if you have questions. Jon in Delaware

as I mentioned in the Reading thread, Chris did my 365 2+2 the day before Reading - I have to believe that some of the credit for my platinum goes to him. Black is a bastard and he worked it for 11 hours straight.

how many hours are in that particular job?

If four or five of us went to Jon's warehouse, could you do all the cars in one day?

would several cars that need detailing make the trip worth while for you?

or, if you refuse, (Bastard!!) do you know anyone in SE PA who does work as well as you do?? If not, then you're gonna HAVE TO COME HERE FOR A WEEKEND OF DETAILING AND DRIVING.

If you Philly guy's don't mind crossing the bridge, I have THE man. Small shop in Williamstown, about 20 min. from the WWB. For the past 2 years Danny has been doing my 400 and my 850. Every time I go to pick them up, it's like Christmas morning. He uses a polymer resin, specially made for him by a chemist in CA. I can't tell you how many compliments I get on the cars, but I do have a couple pics. PM me if you're interested in his #.

I sent a friend there with his Expedition, and when he went to pick it up with his wife, she thought he bought a new one and was effing with her. My favorite line from her," Look, he got that throw-up out."

Dave --He would need a long weekend to do 3-4 cars total. Average job is 10-12 hours each!!

Thanks for the compliments! Jon, as for a detail day, give me enough notice of a weekend (a couple weeks in advance) and I will be glad to share techniques and tips to everyone to keep there car maintained the best. As for full detailing, as Robbie stated, my average detail takes about 10 hours on a single vehicle for a good thorough polishing session and the such. If a detail weekend is arranged and people want to attend then I will be glad to give a "tutorial" to the curious.

Washing and waxing is easy for me, takes me about 1.5 - 2 hours tops just for that process on a single car. It's the polishing and paint correction that takes FOREVER!. My schedule is a little crazy but I will be glad to work out something for fellow f-chatters.

 

Yea I figured I left it there when I got home and it was missing. Go ahead and keep it, its relatively new and you can start using it for your washes

Detail guy, thanks for the willingness to come on up to the Wilmington DE area for a show and tell. I will ask a few guys tommorrow at the weekly coffee what they think a good weekend date would be. I was thinking of some "tips from a pro" rather than you actually doing cars. Obviously that would be too time consuming.I will try to give you a few dates.
