One of the discussions that my Wife and I had when looking at the GT4 was wether or not the car would actually fit in our 3rd garage stall. I did some measuring and decided that it would fit with just enough room to get around the car....Well, I was a little off and she changed her mind on moving an old workbench which has complicated things. (Mainly because I'm now getting quotes on knocking out the back wall and moving the 3rd. bay back another 10 feet!)
Anyway, I'm wondering who else has tight garage space and how do you deal with it?
My daughters and neighbor kids are under a DEATH WARNING not to play on the other side of the garage. :)
Everything is securely mounted and unless I do it, nothing should fall/drop/lean/spill on the car....
I have to move cars around in order to work on it, but that is a small price to pay for the privilge of owning a Ferrari.

I'll be scared to hang anything over my car or park next to something that can fall and damage the car specially here in CA. where earthquakes are prone to happen without warning.

Neighborhood will not allow a shed of any type. Only option is to add on to the garage, which I am looking at.
I just thought it would be fun to see who else is shoe-horning their 3x8's in...

I know that drill! One in the driveway, one at my folk's house, one in a barn, one in a tent. Ah well, back to dreaming the hours away looking at the Real Estate section of the latest Hemmings...

I didn't know Hemmings had a real estate section. I will have to take a peek at that! Oh, for the days when my wife is done school and gainfully employed! :D

+1. I have a two-bay garage and my overarching goal in life is to get a house with a bigger garage.

One side of my garage is a bit shorter, so I use those plastic parking stops and just roll the car to a stop. Always works, no drama.

No kids, no pets, so I'm the only one in that part of the garage.

One solution is to buy shorter cars so they all fit in any bay.

I'm going to end up with another vehicle (daily driver) here soon. Likely a much shorter vehicle than my current company car (Dodge Grand Caravan) so I'll be able to put that over in the 3rd bay and the FCar in the 2nd, though my Wife doesn't want it there because we have the garage door up most of the summer and it gets lots of questions, especially when the cover is on it.

At least you have a 3rd garage spot! I gave that up when I moved from my condo (3 car tandem garage) to my current home (2 car garage.) My goal is to move into a house with a 3 car garage at some point. But finances don't support that anytime soon.

What I'd suggest that you purchase a car cover from California Car Cover or Big Sky Car Covers made from DuPont's NOAH fabric. That seems to absorb minor bumps without damage to paint and bodywork.

Now, if I could only put a lift in my garage, I could squeeze in a 3rd car. But I only have a 99.5" tall garage, and I have to squeeze the Mondial under a Mustang SVO. Somehow that just doesn't seem like it would work...

With the addtion of the 308, our 2 car garage is now 1 car-short... so, my poor truck is left outside (since the wife won't give up her spot - geez, can you imagine that?)

I'm working on the wife to put build a separate 3 car garage now... I have to pull the cars out anytime I want to do any wood working... or pretty much anything...

How could "Mr. Nice Guy" force his wife to build a garage? Pouring concrete, cutting studs, drywalling -- she'll be exhausted. ;)

Just for piece of mind I would invest in a heavily padded car cover.

No, you're killing me! j/k I have a super high garage (12ft+), but the garage doors aren't as high (around 9 ft). The estimate on space I'd need for a lift on the net suggested I'd never get one in. I think I could but don't want to order the thing and then not be able to fit it! Anyone have a good source to talk to about such things?

Boy, a few beers and a buddy that wants to see your car.... Dont you know those little bicycles are extremely dangerous? They barely are able to stand on thier own, even a babies breath of wind, or a wrong look will knock them over. And thier like rattlesnakes, only they can reach out beyond thier own length and wreak havok. I wouldnt want those lil bastards within 20 feet! And you have shovels and rakes near the car? Man, you are brave.

I think you need a 4 post lift, that would solve 90% of your trouble. The other 10% could be solved with a for sale sign on the house and a move to a place with enough room to swing a cat.
