I've got a split zip code too. I live in Shelby Twp. but I share my zip with the tiny city of Utica (Shelby is about 9 times as large). Screws people up constantly. We had some of the same issues when we moved in. Takes patience, but eventually you'll navigate the maze.

I give you credit bro. I wouldn't do it again. Next time that I move I want to move in and not have to spend $$$ getting everything finished.

I actually did more than midway through. By then I had already made a lot of the selections, such as the floors, cabinets, colors, great room furniture, exterior selections, etc... Any decisions I make from now on (ever since I started working with him) will be made with his help & advice.

Hmmm, I'm drawing a blank on which wood the floors are. I'm pretty sure they're Brazilian Cherry, but I could be wrong. If you'd like, I can confirm it and dig up the stain we went with. LMK.

Sir....That is a beautiful house! I love the modern feel. The outside and inside difference is amazing and fits perfectly. Thats how i want my dream house to be, kind of reminds of the house in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, exterior and interior were different, but fit perfectly.

Now that garage, your going to have to decorate in Ferrari. Love the 430. :)

I appreciate the offer, Jeff, but you don't need to go to that much trouble. I would love to see more interior shots once you get settled in. The style and finish look fantastic.

Like everyone else has said your house looks great. I am glad you are finally in and enjoying it. How about some more pics of the kitchen. What are you going to do in the back yard? I know this was a long process for you but it definitely looks like it was worth the wait. The F430 spider looks right at home in front of the house :)

Regarding what to do on the garage floor, check out this thread. If you see something you like you could always pm someone for more details. (I started on page six since a few photos were lost in 04)

I am surprised the thread has lasted this long without the newbie/troll question: "Dude!! What do you do for a living?!"

In all seriousness, congratulations. I love the look/atmosphere of dark wood/stainless steel in the kitchen.

Once again, I appreciate all of the nice comments. :)

Thx for the link to that thread. There are some very cool garages in that thread. Definitely getting some ideas from it. My tile guy is coming tomorrow to touch up the grout in the fireplace, so I'm gonna ask him about tiling the garage. The kitchen chairs should be here anyday and the bar stools just came, so I'll get more pics of the kitchen soon. Not sure about the backyard yet, nothing major planned so far. My brother lives down the street and put a pool in last year, so I'm not planning on putting a pool in anytime soon.

I just realized that I looked at the exact bedroom set you have a few months ago. How do you like it?

    Hey Jeff,

Who did the stone work above your fireplace? I have 20 ft ceilings in my greatroom and a 7 foot mantle which means that I either need to do something like what you did, or I need to buy a 7+ foot oil painting. I like the look in your GR. If you think about it, ask him if he does any work in the north Macomb area, if he does PM me his number.

I love the set. Before I bought it, I knew that I wanted a very high bed set. The bedroom is huge, so I wanted a "grand" looking bed. Once I saw this one and how well it matched the paint, carpet, etc..., I knew it was exactly what I wanted. The matress is a Kingsdown, which is also great. I sleep like a baby on it.
