    What exactly are you doing anyway? If your just editing home movies with some off the shelf basic software, you'll be fine. I edited my wedding video on a laptop. It was a touch slow at times, and took forever to render, but it worked. I think it had a gig of ram, single processor, etc.

    BTW, stay away from Vista. It's a f'n nightmare. I see no reason to upgrade from XP until they fix Vista, which could be another 6 months at least.

    No just fiddling with race clips and home video.

    I was looking for a toy more than anything.

    I saw those. 5-10k is a little steep though.
