Here's the planned route for those curious. I'm going to try to run through it if I have time. As far as I know from past experience none of these roads have any potholes or any roads that are too steep, the only part we will have to worry about is a lot of construction downtown but I'm sure we'll be able to weave our way around.

    This link should work:
    http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?client=firefox-a&hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=117880911069672026950.000001133295d2ffd4aff&ll=39.81803,-84.131241&spn=0.278467,0.561676&z=11&om=1

We'll be starting in Huber Heights, going down Historic National Rd, which is a gorgeous place (over a huge bridge too). Then we'll go through Vandalia and south on Frederick Pk (a beautiful road with lots of twists). Then we'll stop for ice cream on Brown St ... Ben & Jerry's and Coldstone are right there as well as Panera & Chipotle if you're hungry. Then we'll head back north via Route 4 (had to fit in some freeway) and then Chambersburg (another fun one, lots of hills). I think it'll be about 3 hours total.

I think I way overestimated the time and that it is closer to 1.5-2 hours, maybe even less. I'll add more of the historic national road ... it's a really beautiful scenic road

Most of the scenic areas are nice and curvy but they're not too twisty so I think it'd be possible to go fast in them. Also, LOL I included some big strips of less-used freeways and backroads specifically to tempt you to come. There are hardly any cars (cop cars & civilians both) so there's plenty of room to go fast.

Also, I originally planned a more scenic route but then today I asked my sister a hypothetical question, "If you had a Lamborghini, would you drive it more on the highway or on laid-back twisty roads?" and she said "highway" instantly. So I'm going to have to revise it a little.

Let me know when you find out if you can come. It takes about 2 hrs to drive over so we'll push it back to 1:00 so you and Rick can come together

    Webby, et al..

I am out for this Sunday. My Sons Baseball is at 12 noon - and I am working this church festival (which is also my kids school) that my wife roped me into in the afternoon...

So goes most of my spring/summer it seems this year, between travel and extra curricular activities - my availability this year has been dismal...

However on the bright side - I have almost 2K miles on the Spyder in just 6 months - so I am getting out for short drives on my own much more that I did in the past!

A few members and I have talked about getting off our backsides and getting an Ohio/Ky/Indiana drive this summer. I am going to shoot for one in July (probably late July). Look for information soon and hopefully we can all get together soon!

Thanks and sorry I cannot make it.

    Rich

    :D

I went through half of the cruise today ... it only took 50 minutes (supposed to be 1.5 hrs)! I'm going to have to make it even longer. I'll probably end up making it too long. I also found a section that looks pretty from a satellite but was actually a dirty and bumpy road so I'll get rid of that ... luckily I've driven through all the other places before and they're all nice. I'm going to go through the second half tomorrow and then I'll extend it a little

my sister likes highways btw... but I-75 and I-70 are busy enough that I don't think you'll fall asleep. I'm trying to find more interesting curvy roads but there aren't as many as I would've thought. Lots of country roads but they're all straight

I'm with Webby - sunny and warm on Sunday. I may even wash the car in the morning just to guarantee that it doesn't rain. Or does that work the other way around?

I departing from the Shell at 96th and Allisonville about 11am. Dan, if you're running late don't worry - you'll catch up with us on the way over on I-70.

says morning shower followed by afternoon thunderstorms for Indy and Dayton :(

I dont mind the car getting rained on, I do mind the huge mess it'll create in in engine, sypension, nooks and crannies, etc from driving in it all day
but more so, the danger of driving a 550+hp mid engine beast on unfamilar road for hours :(

    no traction control+rain=potental regret

not looking good for me making it
