Ok. well, when i mentioned 'he hasn't qualified lower than 4th', i actually meant it was a praise. don't u think that shows how much of talent he has? sorry for the misunderstanding.

When lewis does put a foot wrong i can just read the posts now "Ah told you so schmac this and Alonso that" the kid with a mans driving skill is a brillant driver even from this point in time his critics cannot argue with that even without seeing him racing in the rain or through the back of the field .

 

Even knowing Schumi had the best car that day, it's still a thrill to watch him come up through the field not once but twice in Brazil. If he hadn't blown that tire he would have been on the podium.

 

Passing midfield or backmark cars is easier when you are in the fastest car on the track. Passing an equal car is tons more difficult.
That said this is the race I will most remember in MS's carreer.
How he came back after Fissicella F'd him was classic. Fissi saw him coming and either choked or dove off to avoid payback.

Yes Lewis has been lackadaisical in not winning this championship yet ( lets get on with it already ) or past WDC championships but I'm going to give him some benefit of the doubt.
I may wait til he has won 5 or 6 before he receives my official certified blessing.

 

Lol, yeah but they aren't that evenly matched yet. Kimi is still off Massa much to my and many others surprise. FA and LH remind me of Prost vs Senna in 88.

Okay video. It got a little repetitive showing the same passes from different angles 15 times. Btw, I would say there are 7 reasons we can't call Lewis the next MS.

What the hell are you talking about? Michael never did much passing. That's because the Ferraris were fast enough that they would usually start and finish 1-2. The only time he passed when that didn't happen was basically through the pits. This race, as well as Monaco 2006, were different in that he had to pass on the track because he was at the back of the back sometime during the race (Monaco at the start and Brazil because of tire failure). If anything, blame the cars for the lack of passing ability.

 

There's only one real reason that we can't call LH the next MS. He's only in his first season and his 7th freaking race. Plus he's in the best car this season and has been with the team since he was 15 or so. Good driver, no doubt, special maybe. But still far too early to tell anything about him other than he's a very quick learner. Everyone from Jackie Stewart to Emerson Fittipaldi calling him to be the greatest ever is the stupidest thing I ever heard. Whether he turns out to be or not remains to be seen, anything can happen, there may be someone out there even better than LH, not to mention the opposition he faces now. He still has a lot to prove before any comparison can even begin to be made. He came in 3rd in his first race in probably the second best car in the field. So what? Senna came home 4th in his first race in a Toleman which was a midfield car at best and had no nose.

 

Maybe he'll end up like JV. Started out on a team with a car head-and-shoulders above the rest and wins a WDC early in his career. Then when his contract is up, he bolts for more $$$. Although Lewis' contract is for a longer period and I think Ron will pay him fairly...

I think Kimi makes $53mm with endorsements. I don't think Ferrari paid him that much in just salary (probably more like $30-40mm), but it still a lot. Lewis could've been a bust in F1 for all McLaren knew while Kimi was already a proven race winner and battled for the title in 2003 and 2005. Most F1 rookies actually pay (not get paid) to drive so Lewis is already in the black.

 

It's way too early to compare LH to anyone actually, lol. In that vid though, a lot of those guys let MS by. Some of those passes were because of courtesy and respect being shown by the other drivers.

 

Kimi didn't let him by obviously, Fisi probably would have been hung by Flav if he let him by, lol. Everyone else moved aside. Still, it's a nice way to remember a great champion.

 

When LH leaves the dominating McLarens and takes a drive for say BMW and then starts winning I will start thinking he is a legend, until then as I have said many times he is just a very fast neat driver that is doing what JV and Hill have already done. Nothing more, nothing less.

Senna and MS won races when they simply should not have ... LH has not done that yet, he has simply won from pole and been very consistent podiuming a car that should win.

I thus hope that he needs an engine change soon so we can really see how could he is from 10th on the grid, and I think a lot of you will be surprised as he trails the car in front waiting for the pitstop passing opportunity like so many of the current drivers. Will be interesting to see, and yes we HAVE watched MS stuck down the grid in this trailing game too, but we have also seen 150% efforts that simply lifted the piece of **** Ferrari he was driving into a winning position.

Oh wait, you left out the fact that both JV and Hill didn't beat a two time defending world champion teammate who has beaten Michael and Kimi, when he was competitive. Lewis IS doing this, and both Jacques and Damon made rookie mistakes, and made more mistakes even as the years went by. Lewis has been absolutely flawless in all of his races. In my opinion, this is a indication that he's above both Jacques and Damon.

 

Maybe so. But he's had quite a bit more experience than either Damon or JV had. Being with the team for over 10 years is quite an advantage that neither had. Also Alonso just got there. Damon didn't beat Prost till the end of the year, and JV looked better than Hill, who had been with the team for several years, right from the start. LH is good, no doubt, but he's far from a legend. To me he's only half a step up from JV or Hill, he hasn't proven otherwise yet.

 

Can we stop the "being on the team for X years" BS ?
I only remember him on this years starting roster and part time one year previous.
