I am new to F-chat, just joined last week. I read about Birdman's floor mat clips and ordered a set, they were delivered two days later and I installed them today. I just returned from a drive and this is the first time since I bought my '84 308QV that I was not constantly tugging at the mat to keep it from depressing the gas pedal, very enjoyable drive. Thanks Birdman, great product and service.

Thanks for the plug and I'm glad you like them. They have made my life much easier too...such a small thing but a nice improvement!

If you haven't already... upgrade your fuseblock to Birdman's!! They are absolutely fantastic!

I've got a set on order. The way everybody talks about them, I'm expecting them to fix the paint chips, make second gear smooth, add 20bhp, and increase the gas mileage to 25mpg!

I have them in my 328, but I have not changed my habit of dragging my heel back to pull the mat back. Not needed now, but still catch myself doing it.

I am using them also in a BMW 328. I installed the outer one, which has helped a lot. The mats in that car do not have the snaps, so they always slid forward.

Alright! People are finally putting them in and trying them out. I love them...no more sliding mats and Italian cruise control.

    Thanks for the comments!

    Hi,

Is it possible to remove the clip from the mat without doing damage to the mat itself?

    Thank You,

    Anthony

Yes, you can either wiggle the mat out sideways, or open the jaws a little with a screwdriver.

They are called Mat Grabbers. (I toyed with "Carpet Munchers" but ultimately decided that wasn't the best name....;))

Thanks Birdman, I picked my 328 up from the shop last week after some extensive work and on the way home I noticed my idle had gone up considerably. My initial thought was great, what did they do to it...then I remembered reading here that many others have had this same problem. I reached down and gave the mat a good yank...problem fixed. I will be placing an order today.

    Thanks again,
