The Transmission light on the dash came on my 360 F1 Spider. Noticed at idle there was a high pitched noise that cycled on and off that I never noticed before (can't hear this when the Tubis are barking). Sounded like a motor going on and like when you unlock the doors with the remote and all the electronics get the systems ready to start.

The dealer said to have the car flat bedded in. Too risky to drive it even though it's driving fine. Thought there might be an air bubble in the F1 transmission fluid.

Dealer had lots of codes come up on the computer but couldn't find anything wrong. They cleared out the codes and have driven it to see if any codes come back on. They haven't. The transmission light is now off after the reset.

Anybody have this happen with an F1 transmission?

    Thanks

Sounds like the F1 pump is having issues, but your dealer should be the ones to know if there's a problem. The F1 pump is what you hear when you open the door before driving. Good luck.

On my 360 that light came on whenever I up/down shifted quickly.
There was one time I was not able to shift out of a gear on the expressway.
Turns out the relay for the F1 pump had worn points resulting in an IR drop.
This relay is also used to energize an emission component that is only on for a short period during startup.
Replacing the relay solved the issue.

    Thanks.

So far they haven't been able to find anything wrong. They are making sure the F1 pump relay is OK. They checked the pump and fluids are fine.

    Thanks again.

I had the F1 light come on together with a rapid beeping sound while driving. It wouldn't shift out of 3rd gear even when I pulled both paddles into neutral. Came upon a stop sign, tried to pull into neutral and nothing. She just chugged to a stop. Then I couldn't start the car because I couldn't get it out of gear. It was Sunday morning in the middle of the country at about 9:45 in the morning. Church then started letting out and I was stopped at the stop sign with the hatch up and talking on the phone. Quite a few stares by the pickem up trucks, I can assure you.

I called the 800 number and spoke to a very nice woman who told me about rocking the car and turning off the power and how to reboot the computers. She stayed with me on the phone for roughly 20 minutes and spoon fed me the steps. Nothing seemed to be working. The weird thing was the last thing she said. Put your foot on the brake pedal and push very very hard like you are trying to put a dent the firewall...... solved the issue.

It turned out to be a faulty brake switch. You know the one that tells the computer that you have your foot on the brake and it is OK to select first or reverse......

The computer wasn't seeing the brake switch functioning and I guess it froze and wouldn't select anything. The pressure on the brake must have re-engaged the switch and everything worked until I could get it to the shop where they replaced the swithc and the issue never came up again.

    Amazing story. (Go Cardinals)

How exactly do you reset the computer?

    Thanks

I am sure they were probably mumbling something like "Look at that sinner!"

But you could always mumble back to them and say "The good Lord wouldn't have blessed me with a Ferrari if he didn't want me to have it"

Picked up the 360 F1 Spider today. They reset the lights and could find nothing wrong. Runs perfectly. Drove 150 miles home no problem. Only got to about 10,000 above sea level, not 12,000+ when I had the problem (but I have been that high before and no problem.) Stay tuned.

Note it was 98 degrees F in Glenwood Springs and 84 in Aspen. Life is good. :D

You turn off the battery switch and basically wait a while. Then you turn it back on and everything reboots. I did have some trouble at first with the throttle working correctly but she helped me through that glitch with turning the key on and prressing the pedal to the floor a couple of times and then starting the car.

Well the car is running perfectly. No transmission light. Life is good.
