Help ! Dashboard/clock removal

    Hi Guys,

    I have to replace my MPH/KPH clock, as my needle has become detached from the clock face, i have a replacement clock, but was wondering if any of you have removed this clock and could give an instructions/directions and tips how to complete this.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Assuming you are talking about the speedometer you will need to remove the whole instrument cluster. Lot's of threads on how to do that but basically it goes like this....Remove the four warning lights (one in each corner) and there are recessed screws behind it. Remove all four screws and gently pull the whole instrument cluster out. Once out you can see how the speedometer is attached to the backside of the cluster plate. Remove the thumbscrew and bracket, disconnect the plugs and remove the speedometer through the front of the plate.

    A couple tips...use dental floss to remove the lights and two be very gentle when pulling the cluster out or you may wind up replacing more parts!

    Someone help Ashley I'm too far away...

    I think she means "odometer"....as in "how many miles are on the 'clock'"????

    The clock is down low on another binnacle....

    I don't know if we still have a picture thread of the process, Ashley...just be careful not to drop the four mounting screws down into the dash......

    .and maybe protect the inside vinyl of the binnacle with some masking tape or something..

    The aluminum plate will have sharp edges....

    How will you reinstall the needle?

    Or will you replace the whole unit?

    We have a firm in California, the puts them right for us here....

    Also, I'd highly recommend the following:

    1. loosen the four screws which hold the instrument pod in place. Towards the end of the loosening, be very careful not to let the screws drop out
    2. then gently feed a magnetic wand thing into each of the four holes, and carefully remove the four screws
