Nice job by the cops. Should be more of this to get the skaters off of the streets. Looks like the cops are doing what the parents should have been doing. I sent a letter to the chief asking that they give this cop an award.

So all kids who use skateboards are thugs? And all people named Steven are idiots? The same logic results in the same fact, it doesn't make sense.

Did a skateboarder knock you down or steal your purse Steve?

    What standing in public?

Yeah you win all of the dad awards, sure.

Stevie sounds like the kind to run up to his kid {in the video} and punch her square in her face then proceed to choke her out.

Also the wife would get a beating for raising such a kid.

Yep that sounds like SteveO to me!

Anyone who watches that video and roots for that cop is a moron, a loser and most likely struggles for power in their own life and of course won't get it because they're a loser.

Does anyone here fit that bill?

To the logic-challenged folks who agree with the cop's actions, the mayor of the city said publicly that he does not condone the actions of that cop and he's been placed on administrative leave.

I guess it takes the statement of a public official to confirm what the rest of knew for a rock solid fact from the get-go: YOU ARE FLAT OUT DEAD WRONG.

    Carry on!

Just stating the obvious. I still believe the kids were in the wrong. Especially the more I read about this case. I has been said that the tape on youtube has been edited by the kids to make them look bette. The police have a copy of the unedited tape. I am sure it will not show these as innocent by any means. Charges haven't been dropped against them yet I hope they don't but probably will. It is going to be interesting to see how it pans out. If I am wrong for backing the cop so be it. I do realize there are bad cops but I will still give them the benifit of the doubt til proven otherwise.

    'To Protect and Serve'.

The police officer, seeing a mill of kids, should have just asked them to move along, pointing out that it was in his power to issue tickets. The problem here is that law enforcement often attracts people who enjoy physical confrontation, and this officer is obviously one. He should be fired for he neither protected nor served, he bullied. Shame on him.

Lets get one thing straight I really don't I really don't give a **** about how this ends up one way or the other. I was calling it like I see it. If I was on a jury trying to convict the officer of any wrong doing based on that video I would have resonable doubt that he did. The kids I would find guilty in a heart beat.

He wasn't harrassing anyone he was enforcing laws of that town. If they break the law and he tells them to stop and they don't he has the right to stop them. If they try to run from him and try to escape from him once he caught them then the amount of force needed increases. I don't know how things are in canada where I was raised I was taught to respect the police. If I don't resist them or haven't done anything wrong then I wouldn't need to elude them. Bottom line if you are uncooperative the amount of force needed increases. Don't give me this **** that he treated them like robbers they tried to elude him and was interfering whether verbal of physical with him arresting the kid.

His comparisons were asinine and no where even close. You **** right if you try to elude a cop in a car once they get you stoped they will approach the car with their weapons drawn and drag your *** from he car and slame you to the ground. Even if you exit with your hands up they are going to treat you rough till they they get the cuffs on you. As far as the Dog **** one I that one was just idiotic. Sorry if you can't see that. This bull**** treated like an armed robber doesn't fly. If they are running from the cops after they were told to stop you stop plain and simple. It is no different then if you are driving down the road and get pulled over by a patrol car. He told these kids to stop and they didn't. Then he has the right to detain them if they keep trying to escape the amunt of force it take to detain them increases. Period.

Now that rant is over. Could he have handled it differently sure he could. Those kids could have handled themselves differently too and probably avoided this whole incident. Probably wouldn't have amounted to more than a harsh lecture or a couple of citations. But no they had to be a**es and the cop in turn became an A** himself.

With your logic a swift drop kick to one of the kids faces should have been all that was required. Over in a snap and no wrestling.

You can't handle kids like that. Cop, teacher, priest or parent. He's going to get his ass handed to him on a plater and will be lucky to work at Wal Mart as a greeter let alone a "protector of people and their rights".

If one of those man-handled kids was mine that cop would be lucky {or unlucky} if he lived through the night.

Nothing in my logic would ever condone a drop kick. Kind of Ridiculous statement there. Not really worth a response.

Only time will tell how it turns out.

Well tells a little about your maturity (or lack there of) taking the law into your own hands is wrong. I hope you are not serious with that last commit.

If I felt my kids were dealt with wrongly I would employee a more legal means to punish the aggressor. But then again I don't have to worry as of right now I have no kids and in the future if I did none would be brought up to act like those idiots did in that video.

Cause they would like to keep their jobs, and probably don't want to spend their savings fighting the parents in civil suit.

    cessnav8or,

I agree with you 100% on this. The kids were in the wrong. The tape doesn't show the whole story. One cop vs six kids with boards, I'd be aggressive in that situation too. Looks like a Michael Moore movie.

...and I suppose you think that the cop acted appropriately too. Hey I know, next time he should whack them with a billy club upside the head.
