I phone = Iblowme . I have an ipod for my music needs. Razr was also with ATT first, after 2 months Verizon and everyone else were giving it away for free. ;)

One of the best things about this phone is it will make the other manufacturers get creative. I'm going to sit back for awhile and see what develops.

Remeber this is a cell phone. The first question you should ask yourself is, "Is this going to help me make better calls with better reception". For a lot of people, the answer is no.... for the others, congrats and let us know how you like it.

Can you post a link to support this claim? From what I understood it was for 18 months then other carriers would offer the iphone on their networks. Apple hopes to have 45 million units sold by 2009.

Hey Will. Couple of guys are heading to Bone Daddy's in Grapevine. Will probably leave the the top on the car. Drop by if you are out. Oh, were we talking about the eyesorephone? I still have my bag phone from '93. Works like a charm but heavy on the shoulder.

To be honest, I just recently heard that it's only for four years (2007 to 2011) and during the fifth year Apple can drop AT&T or not.
They went to Verizon first, for what it's worth.

Apparently call quality / clarity isn't that bad.

For those of you waiting on activation by itunes, here is the trick I just found by accident. Close Itunes and then restart itunes with iphone in cradle. The phone will turn on and activate and allow you to sync. Do not try and sync and switch out sim cards- this will only delay and restart the process. Oh by the way, it is awesome. I have been playing with it for the last ten minutes and am very impressed. The speed at which the webpages load is slow. I now understand that the 3G ( Blackjack) network is faster than I thought.

Apple and Bone Daddy's. Thank God we are off topic. Well, Bone Daddy's is close at least.

Despite the video, I am still a little worried about durability. My Blackberry plastic case does scratch pretty easily, but it has been abused and still works. Once it fell out of my pocket while golfing and was run over by the golf cart. In a side-by-side stress test, I think the Blackberry would outlast the iPhone. Once I cancel Verizon, I am going to stress test my BB 7250 and see just how durable it really is. Then I'll burn it and send it out on the lake in tribute to two years of loyal service ;)

My one iPhone grip though, is that the Mail app is lacking some features. Overall, the iPhone needs COPY/PASTE functionality! Second, I was writing an e-mail the other day, and I entered the wrong e-mail address. It bounced back, and I tried to resend it with the correct address, but for the life of me, I wasn't able to edit the address once it was in my sent items folder.

I went to an Apple retail store in Denver, CO. They had tons of iphones in stock. Then I went to a Cingular store (they never got any iphones to sell) and they have been looking on a Cingular web site that tracks customers' comments. The phone is not receiving favorable reviews nation wide. On a scale of 1-5 the average 2.33. Cingular is already seeing iphones being returned.

It will be interesting to see if the people who are returning the phones didn't give themselves a chance to acclimate to the device. It seems like those here who have messed with it for an hour or two have really liked it. Maybe those who are returning it were never that savvy to begin with. My dad is a very very smart individual but has very little knowledge on how to use modern electronics. For instance, he has had a cellphone since they were as big as a suitcase but still doesn't know how to text message or what text messaging really is despite me showing him several times.

So I bet this device would be too much for some people who, in reality, simply need to make calls.

It's an Apple product. If they are returning it, that's because of another issue.

A friend of mine had a scratch in the glass of the iPhone, she walked in and swapped it out, perhaps that is being counted as a 'return' ?

FWIW: I haven't heard anything so negative about the iPhone where it's enough to write it off.

Everything I've heard so far is how it's finally putting cell phones at what pace of technology we're at today.

So have you changed your mind about the iPhone since the launch? You were pretty ho-hum about it a few days ago.

Give it a week or so & the hype will die down then you will hear about all the problems customers will be having with them if not AT&T.

I'm still eh about it. It'll be a nice phone I'm sure.
I don't watch Youtube on the go, I don't even use the wifi features of my Dash. I see these as tools.

I'd be happier if someone just made a *phone* with the interface the iPhone has but none of the extra features. I'd pay 600$ for that...

Yeah it seems like it already started, folks are reporting that some AT&T stores forced them to buy accessories.

As much as I think humans are stupid, I wouldn't put it past retailers to do stupid **** like that.

Well, maybe yes maybe no. My dad could work a regular Ipod with no trouble. But he would have trouble synching it or figuring out how to select which songs to synch.

Then I can't imagine if he had to setup an email client. Navigate the internet with the new browser, etc...

I am sure you know people like this. Heck, he is a triple board certified physician, someone not nearly as smart with less exposure to the latest technology would have an even tougher time!

Oh no, what I meant when I said that was eBay.

Apple has a knack of not running out of things. At least that's how I see it when Steve always says at his keynotes, "Oh, and it's shipping now".
