Too much time or money? At least this guy isn't a Ferrari owner who is afraid to drive it in the rain or otherwise get it dusty! Ironically, that's all their cars ever do: collect dust in the garage.

It's so sad to see so many close-minded "enthusiasts."

Wrong. I have met Craig at several South FL events and he has both the means and will to do a project like this. I can understand if you doubt it, but I hope to get a ride in it when it gets done. Craig is definitely no Matteo.

I love goofy projects like this! A few thoughts...

Will this car turn or is it basically built for the interstate in North Dakota?

How high is the ceiling on your garage? Is it fireproof?

Do you get a discount from State Farm for removing the questionable Ferrari differential?

Are you going to mention it to State Farm at all?

Will you need to repaint the car in a more heat resistant paint?

Will the engine start with a key or a highway flare?

Can you parallel park it? What happens to the guy behind you?

    Ken

I have friends here in Arizona who swear that they have seen and heard a turbine powered motorcycle running around Scottsdale. In fact, my stockbroker recalled being on the patio of a bar and hearing what sounded like a helicopter start - but it was a bike. "Bike 2K" or somthing it was called. I know, sort of OT, but they seem like fun projects.

Actually Jay Leno has a turbine powered bike. It does exist and works. I don't see why this wouldn't work with a TR. Go for it!

    Enough blind speculation.

Let's see what you have planned.

How are you gonna get the power to the wheels?

Let the man play...Ferrari or Ford it doesn't matter. The TR is the perfect car for this anyway. Tons of them around, fairly worthless.what better car for a project like this?

That was a pretty brash analysis for a Ferrari icon, but it’s definitely something you would say! :D :D :D

I wouldn't phrase it quite like that, but it is true: There are plenty of 308, 348, 355, 360 and TRs around. They made thousands of them, hardly a criminal offense to tinker with one.

I remember back in the eighties one of the two big Ferrari collectors in Switzerland was asked whether he'll get a TR as well and his response was: "Nah, everybody has a TR. What's the point?"
