hi guys, after years of saving i am in the position to buy my first ferrari,i like the look of the 348 but wonder if the 355 is a better car.i would like one with a removeable roof is this called a ts ? and is it possible to buy a 355 f1 ts ? and do the f1 gearboxes give much bother ? hope someone can help with my dilema
Depends on how much £££ you want to spend. Better to get a good 348 than a bad 355. 348 has less things to go wrong with it and the engine is supposedly more bullet proof. 348 is a harder car to drive than a 355 with less electronics Major consideration is what your occupation is. If your a hairdresser, flower arranger or Dale Winton, you should get a 355. see www.club348.com & www.the355.com for more info.
Hi and welcome Loads of very helpful advice on this topic on the 348/355 section of this forum. good luck.
355 is a better car, but as Sy said as long as its a good one. I know the owner of this beautiful 355 GTS F1 and its for sale, pm me if you are interested, I'll give you his number Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have to say the 355 is a far superior car. I've owned a 355 and my brother had a 348 so I've driven both in anger. Do a search and you'll find my recent thoughts on both cars but if you've got the extra cash get a 355. The cost difference is not as big as you think. The car Hazy and Wobbler are talking about is a brilliant example. I've actually driven the car as it belongs to a friend. It has the added bonus of being a Fiorano Handling pack car which means better brakes and suspension. Here's the info from the CS website, you'll see what I mean about it being a bargain. 1998(R) 355GTSF1 Rosso Corsa, Crema interior 37,000 miles MoT Feb 2008 Fiorano Handling Pack (drilled brakes/red calipers etc) X-ost sports exhaust CF F1 paddles and cills Fire extinguisher Full service history (7 main dealer and 2 known independant) Cam belts/full service carried out April 2007 Will be goin on dealer forecourt in 2/3 weeks time at £45k Private sale £40k ono
I owned a 348 ts, leaked like a sieve. I preferred the 355 as it stayed dry. It drove better too. The only downside was using the paddles in traffic, neither I nor the car enjoyed that, but on the open road, no contest, the 355 was the better car.
