The 360 Stradale has an optional extra which is a stripe running along the car. Apparently this is quite an expensive extra. I was just thinking, my 360 Spider has just come back from the bodyshop after having a "full" front end respray, this is the second time its been done after covering extensive milage across Europe. What will happen when owners need the whole front painted on their Stradales, it is going to be a pain in the a** if you have a stripe... What will they do to overcome this?

    Jenzo,
you would like to think Ferrari UK will armour-fend the £3k optional stripe[at least on the bonnet], but then again.........!

Having armour-fend on the bonnet will look silly though, what about when you begin to get bubbles on the edges.... Its fine on the front bumper.

I wouldnt worry about it too much. It was a £3,600 option on the car when NEW. The actual Ferrari (sticker) part no. 67749200 can be ordered for £294.29 from Eurospares so it wont really break the bank...

This is indeed the same kit used by the Ferrari factory. 'Hand painted' was actually referring to the fact they 'hand painted' the clear coat on top, really, this is no joke!

Ferrari actually confirm when questioned this was a translation interpretation from Italian to English by UK media. Technically YES it was hand painted because the clear coat was hand painted but no cs ever had a hand painted stripe, just hand painted clear coating on top.

If you think about the labor involved to clear coat the roof, engine lid and front bonnet, bumper its quite extensive and then theres the x10 markup Ferrari work to, technically the stripe should have cost £2940, add 17.5% vat.. £3454.50, then round up... £3600 :) :) Got to hand it to them they KNOW how to make money :) LOL

Oi! I'm not making a replica, I'm making a evolutionized car 'based' on cs specification as the starting point. I dont remember a CS ever having a manual box, 0-60mph in 3.5 secs, a 10 sec qtr mile with 600hp/1100kgs and a 220mph vmax :) :) :)

On the tri color stripe front I think its more painful for owners who bought their car NEW to think of the price they paid for the 'hand painted' stripe as NOT being anything else. Sure, just keep telling yourself that :)

Who knows, I may put the fully carbon GT-C race spec front bumper on at some point... that pretty much depends on what the challenge boys recommend for the aerodynamics. I'm just starting with the CS as the base..

Already they are already beefing up the chassis to F430 spec to handle all the extra power. They are also suggesting a GT-C adjustible carbon rear wing for when the 6th gear ratio is upped to take 220mph. We'll see...
