Who: If you are reading this, you and guest are invited! I'm inviting Marcair instructors & students, friends, AviatorChat.com, DFWPilots.org, and FerrariChat.com. Possible 20+ people will be there.

Contact: You can try to contact me on my cell: if questions. Please PM or email me at [email protected] if you plan to make it.

    Post open bar:

Southlake towncenter pub crawl or the best Southlake can attempt at one. :D Potential targets within walking distance are…

Brio Tuscan Grille - Fine Italian, nice inside and outside porch bar.
Cheesecake Factory - Nice bar and patio, great Mojito's!
Hilton Hotel bar - Hotel bar, just opened.
Mi Cocina - Average bar & patio, great texmex and the killer Mambo Taxi.
Po'Melvins Restaurant - comfort food down home hole in wall bar.
Rockfish Seafood Grill - Average bar, good appetizers.
Snuffers Restaurant and Bar - Great bar, but small, large patio off bar.
Truluck's Seafood Steak and Crabhouse - Uppitie bar, good valet for Ferraris.
X's & O's Sporting Tavern - Nice true sports bar, large screens, cigar room.

My tab will be closed after 7pm, but we'll get food along the way. Everything will just be very informal at your own pace.

    Hey Rob,
Congratulations! One of the proudest days of my life was the day I passed my check ride. I have flown out of Marcair for several years . Have you been checked on on the glass panel 172s yet? I have not but would love to get some time in one. I have 20+ hours of block time I have already paid for. Let's go fly together soon on me

Hey John, didn't know you flew out of Marcair too, or just missed it. They wanted me to do more on the glass, but I only did about 4 of my hours with it. My 2nd solo ever was in a glass plane and I hadn't even been trained on it! :) I'm glad I learned on the regular dash so when I go places and fly other planes I'm comfortable. Before I start my instrument one of my goals is getting good on the glass. I'm going to buy the King Schools G1000 training (I can share with you) and then do several hours on glass with instructor. Another advantage of that is the glass planes get rented less at Marcair and are newer.

Great, we'll have to go down to Hard 8 BBQ or something like that.

Judging by the map of your destination, I'd say you can walk HOME if necessary! :)

    Congrats.

Hey Rob, I have the King DVD series on the Garmin. You are welcome to borrow it, I have it here in front of me. I will try and swing by tomorrow night and will bring it with me. If I do not make it, I will meet you in S Lake and get it to you this week. Isn't it a great feeling?! I felt more pride completing passing my check ride than I did completing my residency. Seriously, let me know when you would like to go fly. I think the weather is looking bad this morning but let's run to Shreveport one day. It is a fun flight and the casinos will pick you up in a limo for free. And the $7 buffet is great.

Congrats Rob, I didn't realize you were so far along in your training.

I'll try to make it to the post pub crawl, I think my hockey game is early in the evening.

Truluck's has free valet, they will put 2-3 cars up front and then park the rest side of building. There is other parking nearby on the "town" streets, but hard to grab one on a Saturday. Plenty of parking to North between the Hilton and 114.

See y'all there 5pm! I'm sure we'll stay Truluck's until at least 7:30, but call me if you miss us.

Congratulations Rob. You have now joined the fraternity of what are often little men with big wrist watches and nothing else to do with their time or money but wave their hands in the air and chase women !!

Very dated description but but when I qualified that was the advice I received.
