So do I...I never thought it was a problem.

Then again I have never been banned from a board (though I figure it will now happen since I just posted that).

Really, use common sense and don't act like a jackass. And don't start useless threads either..

...And don't get so defensive when people comment about it (612 VS. DB9 Thread).

    Welcome back Vik.

I would just follow others advice and be yourself. You can tell us about your fathers cars, its not a problem as along as you can support yourself and your father does not mind.

This forum welcomes any info about cars but you have to bear in mind that if that car does not belong to you, it will be queried, no question about it.

Anyway as i say welcome back and I hope this time you are here to stay and as someone else said, learn like a lot of us do.

    Regards,

    Matthew

I would probably CLOSE this thread though because i do think it has answered his question and if left has the potential for politics we could do without!

    Anyone got my vote???

    Let me just add this.

In the very front of your brain, remember this is not a site full of fourteen year olds.

The demographics point in another direction, so while many of your posts may seem REALLY MATURE for a 14 YEAR OLD, they don't stand up to the scrutiny of an adult post.

So, when you're here, pretend you're in a room full of your parents' friends and behave accordingly.

Don't for one minute act like you're in charge of the room, and/or surrounded by your buddies while you fire up the PS3 on the giant screen TV in the REC room next to the garage full of expensive cars that your dad's dental practice has paid for. Get it?

    NOPE.

The kid needs a good ear bending, he asked for one, and I think he should have to listen to the lecture for at least another couple weeks, or until he's banned again, whichever happens sooner. :D

The thing is you know that he will be banned again should this thread and others stay open.

In the last 10 mins, I'm realising that Vik has unfortunately started a few threads that just will not do him any good. I wish he hadnt.

That's the rub with Vic. People would like for him to learn from his mistakes and become a contributing member of the forum, but he seems unable to take the step on his own. Why should the forum cater to him?

If you saw the websites, you would understand. For most people it's just fine but in this case I would advise against it.

Maybe we should try to understand why he acts like this :

    1. He wants to impress his dad with a big knowledge and a bunch of "respectable" friends that know quite a lot on the cars he plans to purchase.
    2. He can't talk with his dad about the cars issues, because his dad doesn't listen to him assuming he's too young/stupid, while he admires his dad for his success or whatever reason. Hence he talks to us (and see what we think, there's a lesson there...)
    3. He has no real-world friends, because either he's bragging to much, or they are (no, don't invite them over to this forum...)
    3. He is the actual owner of the cars and just wants to make a big joke :)
    4. He's from the CIA and heard some high ranked talibans are hidden in the forum.
    5. He's an alien who wants to buy a car and invented this stupid story to understand how these cars actually drive, since he will never be able to get his 50 tentacles and 3 heads behind a wheel (oh did i mention that he was made of gas ?)

    Any other suggestions ?

I second that. I have many real world friends and they are very loyal to me. I don't brag to them because they don't need to know and they find out about the cars when they come over. Only reason I "braged" about the cars is because its a car forum here and I thought talking about cars will get you to be accepted by others

Sharing knowledge gets you respected by others.

Not bragging about what your dad has.

The fact is most here don't give a **** what cars your dad has. A lot of the people here have similar (if not better) cars so what your dad has is irrelevant. If you want to impress people with your dads cars head over to *************

Anyway, i haven't seen anything offending so far. Bragging is not a crime, otherwise some heavy users of the forum should be banned for life, as it should make no difference if it's your car you are talking about, your dads' or the one on the wall :)
Asking silly questions either. Maybe it annoys people because you're young, but i don't really get it. All thread with a vs. in the caption could be tagged as trolling, as they will generate 50 pages of stuff copy-pasted from the internet with always the same (void) result, one group still claiming the A-car is better and cheaper, the other one claiming the B-car is better to drive, and the last group repeating that both cars are great.

Your posts from 6 months ago are indentical to the recent ones. You have learned nothing at all, dude.

We all know how it happens:
You - "whoa dad, that 612 is so hot"
Dad - "yes I quite like it, but the DB9 is a stunning competitor as well"
You - ***run away to post on FChat -ZOMG my dad wants to buy a 612 or a DB9 which is better LOLZOMG-***

And commenting on someone's car being ugly, have ugly rims or ugly colour is downright rude.

You're gonna get banned again, and probably for good. Apparently it is hard not to get banned. For good.

    1. GET A SPELL CHECK "ment" "atractive" meant, attractive
    2. Don't apologize or back peddle. Live with what you post, and post carefully that way you won't have to apologize.
