From an unreliable source I was told as of 3 weeks ago its now an automatic $350 ticket and no longer a fix it for no front plate??

Like I said, the source isn't the most reliable but sure would like to know if true.

I'm still confused how they can enforce this when 1/3rd of the cars I pass in the morning have no plates.
Is it a Bev. Hills thing?

I've never had a front plate on any vehicle I've owned and I've only had one ticket. I wouldn't sweat it.

Just blame the body shop that reprayed your bumper for not replacing it.

Got a ticket parked on Ventura Blvd. Coin in the meter but $35 ticket for no plate.

Coming home from Justin's event in SB, I got stopped by CHP for no freakin front plate, that's it. $118, proof of fix.

Btw: just put your front plate on your car, if you dont it just gives any cop in the right to scratch and sniff.

    Officier:
"Oh Hi sir, reason I pulled you over is that I see you don not have a lic plate, hmm what is that control item on your dash, ooooh I think you might have some modifications, would you please pop your hood"

I had this problem with my Vette and after 3 tickets I finally ordered a detachable, color matched frame from Top Flight.

Does anyone make front plate frames for Ferraris that don't require drilling the bumper?

I'd like to get a vinyl copy of my plate made so that I can stick it on my front bumper.

    something like this:
    http://www.craigsplates.com/self-adhesive-number-plate.html?gclid=CMOlj42Cs40CFRDVYAodRlVttQ

it could even be made of the type of static-stick vinyl that does not require gooey adhesives and can be taken on/off with ease. Heck, I'd even shrink the plate size by 10 or 15%.

any one know of sources to get this done? Sticker city?

if cars come with tint there is nothing the cops can do, but it is illegal to do any tint darker than 70% from your shoulders foward. 70% is basically a clear UV protectant. You can go get a Dr.s prescription saying that you need the tint do to light sensitivity to your eyes, but most cops are just issuing the ticket anyways and its up to you to go into court and haggle it out with the judge.

He said thats the reason why.

I have 5% on my car all around with light on my windshield and luckily no issues. I hate to say in Newport it really depends on the car but if you put tint on at all it's just another chance of getting struck by that bored cop.

3 cars in the last 6 years, no front plates, ever. never got a ticket for it. never had a ticket for tint, either.

in fact, on the volvo, i had a custom front euro plate -- i got pulled over...cop looked at it, looked at my rear plate, and didn't even say anything. :p

must be the ****** OC and LA cops that are doing that crap.

I suppose I could just zip-tie it to the lower grill if i ever had to do a fix-it...also considering getting a set of these for the M..at least I won't have ugly holes in the front of the bumper if I remove it.

I've tried that with my heavily modded evo. They'll tow it. Just happily sign all of the different tickets and then fight them through written declaration. I haven't lost a case yet, and one of the tickets required me to go to a CA smog referee (thank GOD I won that one).

yeah, but you're car isn't as inconspicuous as mine are :) so i'd say a combination of being unlucky, and the car itself :p

Anyone manage to catch a bit of break with no front plate / tint having a 11-99 plate? Yes I know you shouldn't expect anything - but I am wondering if anyone received some additional courtesy.

Also what is the ticket for driving around with dealer plates long after you received your plates. Many Lambos in OC have dealer plates long after they are bought.
