I think LH has gotten the best training that a F1 racer can have, but I think A LOT of it has to do with his inate, individual talent and personal drive, two things which you cannot train into someone.

He has bested every one of his opponents on the race track that have MUCH more experience than he does - training is good, but the real thing and experience count for a lot, and even so, he has managed to beat the competition. I think he's done a great job and I really enjoy seeing him do well.

I am a big Ferrari fan, but LH is still great to watch. He's a kid and he's doing amazingly well on his first season out - training alone could not have gotten him this far...

    Tiger Woods has a coach.
All the great ones usually do.
Somebody is coaching Lewis. Hopefully it's Coughlan and /or Dennis and they both lose their jobs. :D

I'll buy that LH's training is physical and mental, but this super robot stuff I won't.

How dose this stuff get wings? I was at Mid-Ohio Rolex series the week after Indy F1. Eddie Cheever was by himself in the paddock and I talked to him for a while. He had been to F1 and I assume talked to more insiders than most of us. When I asked what he thought of LH his first words were "He's a robot".
I thought, "Yea right". This is how this stuff gets started and I'm sure Cheever didn't make it up by himself.

He's natural talent that has had the best training available. But he's not Hal.

Well not just any kid, but say any from his karting days that already showed basic skills. Remember this training (not at the full level, but training) started as we all know from a very young age. Just like any other sport you train and guide a child and as long as they do not loose the motivation along the way they turn out very bloody good at the sport.

What happens to most kids though is they loose interest and become usual teenagers and get distracted. Thus I give Tiger Woods and LH a big plus here.

And yes maybe I am romantic fool, but I really do not like "professional" sport. IMO the word professional and sport should never be mentioned together, you should immerse yourself in "sport" for passion and personal satisfaction only.

This is one area that I really respected MS about, he just loves driving and I truly believe that he would have raced for Ferrari for nothing, once he had a roof over his families head. Now ofcourse LH might be the same, I am most definitely not knocking the kid personally, just the process ... this process will simply mean all teams have to do it and more robots will be filling the grids. F1 is hardly interesting now ... can only get worse with "perfect" drivers.

For years I have prayed for the perfect driver, but now he is here I realise I was praying for the wrong thing, I want exciting drivers that make mistakes to keep the element of chance in racing. LH winning the next 10 years of F1 will kill F1 completely for me ... MS (in the 2000's) stopped me watching, especially packaged with the huge car advantage that he had.

For crying out loud what do you want ! Hamilton has drawn more crowds than ever at silverstone.. F1 is a sport that is at the forefront of developing cars and drivers whether that be on simulators or not. The simulators advance with the times as well . So your saying Hamilton is a victim of his own success.. and you want him to make a mistake .Then he becomes a likeable human ...move with the times instead of clutching at straws

    Lewis is:

A great driver, the real deal.
    Not a robot.
    A real gentleman.
    Underpaid.
Going to be the best driver since Schumi.
    Driving for the wrong team.

They are still short of I would have gave him, although they didn't call for my advise.
