It looks like the hub went and then the tyre blew. Lewis is being taken to hospital. Maybe a leg problem.

What's the status of Q3? Does this mean they suspend the session?

Too bad for Lewis, but it will tighten the championship up even more. What was once a runaway is suddenly looking like anybody's chance (among the Ferrari/McLaren drivers)

    Glad Lewis is alright.

Doesn't sound like he is alright...this means he's not even racing tomorrow?

    That sucks!!!

Maybe just precautionary. The view of the cockpit showed his legs moving. I guess that could be in response to pain. Hopefully he can race tomorrow.

Can they do a chassis change without a penalty if they switch the engine out?

I'll pray for him that he'll be okay and back tomorrow and be on the podium. Suspension failure . . . .did you see his feet in the car? shades of MS and Silverstone - hope not . . .

Question now is WHY did this occur. I was so hoping for that 10th podium

I have a feeling he has hurt something in one of his legs. Too bad for Lewis as everything was going so good for him. Hopefully its not a big deal.

Ron Dennis just interviewed on ITV saying it was a failure of the wheel gun and therefore the wheel wasn't put on properly...

Dosnt look like suspension as there were CF particles flying out of the HUB before the tire blew.

Man, that mechanic has got to feel terrible. If LH cannot go tomorrow, they are probably not allowed to replace him with another driver at this point, right? They need to alert the marshals to a driver change before Saturday practice?

the head snapped pretty good...not good for the neck, or could be a concussion. i doubt he would be moving a bad leg.

Did it seem strange to anybody else how long it took him to stop? It seems that he was in the gravel or quite some time. I know he's going fast, but those brakes are good and the gravel should help. I wonder if he didn't apply the brakes until very late in the off?

His time will stand but with 5 minutes left, Im sure many cars will pass that time unless it rains. I think his time will leave him in about 7 or 8th spot. Then he has to be able to drive tomorrow and it does not look good. Hopefully it was the sudden jolt that caused him a little bit of a concusion and nothing broken.

He went airborne off the curb which left him very little time to decelerate in the gravel.

He didn't even complete a flyer, so he'll probably be in 10th position.
