I hope its not over but then we should also get on with this season even if it is tainted. It would be nice to see Ferrari kick butt as they are now the underdog by far.

they should have at least penalised both the MAc drivers. put them same points with Kimi. then we'll see the championship re-ignited again :D

Well, when some of the decision makers had already publicly announced they had made up their minds before the hearing, it's not surprising at all.

Don't feel so bad. The FIA has decided in the favor of Ferrari in the past. This time they didn't. It goes both ways.

F1 is way too important for Ferrari to let go of it just for this. Think about it: Ferrari is the only manufacturer to have been there since the beginning and never miss a season (they did miss some races, but that's another story). Nobody else has that pedigree. You don't want to loose that and become a Porsche or a Renault team that shows up when the weather is nice.

Besides: I want Ferrari to beat McLaren on the track, not at the green table. And we will!

So, they had the stuff but nobody could prove they benefitted from it!

Yes your honour, I DID rob the bank ... but I wasn't going to spend the money ... honest!

And its True that Bernie got his way

Quite the opposite: Bernie wants a good racing show till the end, he would have wanted to level the playing field by taking some McLaren points away.

Can't say that I am surprised by this outcome. As a whole, FIA can not admit and punish McLaren-Mercedes as it would be an admission that 2007 is crap. With LH in his rookie year & FA, their current WC at McLaren, and M-M's significant role in F1 racing, FIA can not afford to punish M-M as they have to maintain F1's "intergrity". Just imagine if NBA comes out later and admitt that their ref was indeed on the take and that the WCs of the past 3 years had been indeed tainted. NBA will never, ever admit to this.

Two things tho: 1) FIA clearly states that M-M broke the sporting code 151c, which settles it all for me as this is no longer "speculation" but fact. 2) FIA does not "feel" that M-M had benefited from the docuements at this time, which left the door open for many things. Not saying anything will be done to M-M, just that it is a big maybe and a huge question mark.

Now this is settled, Ferrari/KR/FM still has a chance of winning this year, imagine how sweet it will be if indeed they are able to pull it off and win the titles this year. Forza Ferrari !!!!!

With that decision F1 has lost credibility and that shows that F1 is not fair.

    what an absolutely RIDICULOUS decision

Maybe Ferrari should start pulling some strings here. Give spyker the same info and in exchange for some on track favours. Of course they would have to get Stepney to give it to them.

Whether or not they used the tech data to build their cars or not, I think it's pretty evident that they read something in that book. Again, the point I keep going back to is the fact that someone on their team was just watching the floor of the F car during the course of the race to see which direction it flexed? Absolute BS. No matter how little is ever made known about what they did use; I'm pretty convinced that, while maybe not the sole factor, this is a huge factor in Ferrari's season. That, along with the genius that can't calculate fuel loads are the nails in the coffin this season. It just amazes me that anyone can look at this and see innocence. Also, what the heck is this crap about leaving it open for 2 years? To me that makes it seem like the FIA doesn't even believe themselves? It seems that perhaps someone is on the payroll of McMerc and this is just a way to make sure they have a way out. I was sure that they would at least get a fine or maybe a few points deducted. I'm completely disgusted.

    unbelieveable!

Figures.......Bernie gets his way and the team with the devil and his golden child get off scott-free.

I hope Ferrari absolutely dominates them on track.

If anything they should have been fined.

I would have also put them on "double secret probation" :)

There may not be enough evidence for a penalty now, but what if Stepney and Coughlin start singing to save themselves?

FIA should make MM at least paint 1/2 their cars Rossa Corsa so when race fans see the MM they know part of it is Ferrari. That would be worse for them than taking away points.
