Looking to buy a CS and I found a great car but it doesnt have radio/CD player and that is must for me. Anyone installed one? I would like to keep factory parts and factory look.

Aftermarket stuff, yes you can install. Factory stuff....wicked expensive, and not really practical to add after the fact. I found a nice car too, but the Hi-Fi missing was a show stopper.

You really need a radio you shouldn't get a cs. What's happening to Ferrari owners?

The advice you're getting is right on. First, a major joy driving a CS is the engine sound, windows open as much as possible, drinking in each and every sound of one's engagement with the car. Second, the OEM stereo sucks. Sound is relatively poor and is diminished even further by stripped down interior and relatively loud engine sounds. CD player skips over bumps. Third, a CS w/o a radio eliminates the dilemma you'd likely face when contemplating taking it one out to save weight. It's not there originally, so no problem, you're lighter. Furthermore, aftermarket on a CS isn't really desirable because most CS owners don't want or don't listen to a radio/stereo, and aftermarket stuff may undercut resale value a tad as purists tend to buy CSs. I do go on long trips in my CS, have occasionally played the stereo but, as I said, even then the sound sucks so much I just switch it off and enjoy the music of the strad.

Wow, this is utterly surprising to me. My cs came with original factory option radio, leather wrapped(black leather with red stitching) with factory center speaker. I have never turned the system on, ever. Believe it or not, i scheduled an appointment with my ferrari dealership to have the entire system removed. :) And you guys want to have it installed? PM me if you are interested.

Do you know how much a radio weighs? You'll have a major impact on the acceleration of the car. You'll lose at least.0034678 of a sec from 0-100!

Simple solution as mine didn't come with a stereo either. Use an IPOD on a BOSE sounddock.

Works like a charm and is loud enough should you wish to commit a sin and drown out the engine noise.

On long journeys i use it to listen to Howard Stern show if i have missed one that week.

Have yet to turn mine on. When I take my car in for service the radio always says code. They ask if I have the radio code and laugh, they know me well. :)
