Best thing I ever did was take LSD. At the time I was a suicidal teenager, and to this day I have never contemplated suicide again. Simply put, LSD helped me realise how precious and beautiful life is. The second time cured me of paranoia. After half a dozen times, I had learned all I was going to, and didn't take it any more. Please note, my friends treated it with respect and not merely as a recreational buzz. We always had a safe environment and a "babysitter," and we never did it more often than every four to six months. I'm not saying that anyone should go out and get some acid, but realise that it's not what you may have been led to believe.

If you lump in the 2 "don't remembers" with the 21 "dids", you get a near perfect 3:1 didnts to dids ratio:74/23. I know I've seen age stats for Fchat members at some time in the past, and if I remember correctly, the age/membership curve correlates pretty closely with the didnt/did ratio. And this makes sense...the "generation X" age group, now aged 30-46, which immediately followed the "boomers", aged 46-61, by and large eschewed drugs. Once again, if I remember correctly, the generation X age group also makes up the largest Fchat membership age group. I did it but didn't inhale.
I don't need to. I've never had the urge. I've done extensive research on LSD (psychotropic) studies into the levels of consciousness. Stanislov Grof has published a TON of work on it. He's has been researching the effects of 300mcg on individuals under certain conditions and compiled some very compelling data to support the Holographic theory of the Universe. There are also many many published works on our own government's use of LSD to study Schitzophrenia. Both of which produce frontal lobe activity in very similar fashions. There are breathing techniques to reproduce this state called "Holotropic" breathing. It is a minute form of Oxygen depravation to the frontal lobe via Meditation and a semi-hyperventalation type pattern. The result is an alteration of blood pH that is consistent with Schitzophrenia, forms of Alzeihmers and LSD usage. Ironically, Stanislov Grof is one of the biggest proponents of this technique and has also studied it's effects for more than the past decade. There is even some interesting Youtube material out there that will shock you a litttle.
