or the ability (Note: this is intended as humor, hence the smiley face, in case you are wondering or in case you simply have an axe to grind)
you clearly have none as you were using my debating methods to try to counter my arguments ... who has no ability ?? stop antagonising people and just keep to your simple world 'doubting Thomas' and stop PMing me, I could care less about your lies you foul-mouthed individual
I missed the article that referenced this. Could you re-post the one that talked about the technical info that McLaren submitted? Thanks.
I'm happy to accept what you say though the only bit of speculation in my post is whether or not they have utilised the 780 pages. As far as the FAI goes it is of little interest to me. I am happy for the Championships to be decided on track. I am also happy for Ferrari to sue Mclaren and its' functionaries in whatever jurisdiction they can and to seek any other remedies that are applicable.
I think this is a good thing. If Mclaren are found innocent, then I'll forget about this and at least stop feeling like Ferrari didn't get a fair shot at the championships. But if they are found guilty, that pretty much guarantees another championship for Scuderia Ferrari, so I'll be very damn happy about that. Although on the first trial I thought that Mclaren should have been fined for not bringing this spy thing to the attention of the FIA. I would like to point out is that Mcl didn't need to make carbon copies of Ferrari parts to be considered taking advantage of the data. Knowing Ferrari strategies can definitely help you plan your own. Knowing what areas the F2007 is weak and strong in is beyond helpful, you would be a fool not to prioritize the developments on your car based on that data. Obviously most parts on the F2007 will not work on the Mclaren, but having the technical data can certainly inspire you to create your own versions that will work on your car, or at least speed up development of your car. If Mclaren are found guilty of any of these then they should be excluded from both championships, for 2007 and 2008.
I will dig it up for you, there is a lengthy article in Autosport about a week ago on this point, as well as the entire situation up to that point. They also mentioned that McLaren had an independat law firm take depositions from each member of the technical staff as well.
that's a bit harsh luis, some here need to see it on YouTube before they'll believe McL have done anything wrong
+1 I have been waiting for this issue to go away so we can get back to racing. I have heard all I want to hear from some quarters around here.
While I agree with you that settling the Championships on the track is the best answer, I'm troubled by something I haven't seen addressed anywhere on FCHAT or any where else for that matter. That concern is how McClaren handled the situation before it came to light. All the reports I've seen have said that McClaren told Coughlin to destroy the documents. That smacks of a cover up strategy rather than a proactive strategy. It would seem to me that the proactive approach (aka ethical approach) would have been for them to take the documents from Coughlin and turn them over to the FIA and to take appropriate and decisive action with Coughlin's employment. While that would be the ethical way to handle the situation, it would assume they had nothing to hide. By taking the approach they did, they opened themselves up to the suspicion that they do have something to hide. Whether they do or do not have anything to hide is pure speculation at this time, but when it comes to Intellectual Property not following the ethical path and trying to cover it up is seldom a good approach. The open question is what would have happened had the Print Shop Owner not reported Coughlin's wife's activities? McClaren's Chief Designer would have the information from the 780 pages available to him and he would be continuing to to function in his job and use the data as he wanted. I doubt if he (or they) would use it in their design but what about in their race strategy. Knowing your opponents weaknesses is sometimes as valuable as knowing his strengths. Clearly Mercedes McClaren failed the ethics test, the question is why? Bill
I don't care about "we", I know what kind of a person you are !! Respect, ?? you don't know the meaning and stop measuring people by the size of their wallets , remember this little statement : "oh yeah, like a civil servant would own a Ferrari" and in your PM to me : >>>I am through fighting with you, Bill365, and that idiot 355. I will treat you with exactly the same respect you treat me. As for 355, judging by all the PMs I received about him and the ill-will he has engendered on these boards, my guess is he will soon be gone. STILL FIGHTING WITH BILL I SEE >>>I suspect I can buy and sell a good number of the folks on FChat several times over just as I am aware that there are quite a few that can buy and sell me. look you money-centric fool I could care less how much money people have, it has never bought class >>>I never sought to make my Ferrari or my wealth an issue, which is why I have tried to maintain my anonymity so nobodies like JimG are just showboats ? respect ?? yeah right and you wanted me to apologise to you !?!?! after you swore profanely for days without so much as a slap over the wrist ?!?!? you thought you would fool me in PMs, the old divide and conquer tactic went out the window years ago
WRONG !!! There you go again, tailoring "truth" and rewriting history to suit your preference. Gotta watch him like a hawk people !!! Proving that McLaren used the information, is not part of the requirement of proving violation of 151c of the FIA regs. Repeat the following line 100 times... The WMSC of the FIA found McLaren GULITY !!! The WMSC of the FIA found McLaren GULITY !!! The WMSC of the FIA found McLaren GULITY !!!
Bill, he told me in PM he wasn't going to fight with you ... and strangely earlier in the month he said he was putting us on ignore .... someone here is a liar ... is it you or me ??
Great post....but it looks like it just flew over his head.....again......No need to say more as he will ulitmately have the last word and then email Dave.
The hearing was simply Mclaren proving their case to the FIA, with Ferrari only there as bystanders unable to state their case. Anything but a fair hearing.
The way he keeps twisting the context of lines within posts, I guess we all are.... If we disagree with him. "THE WHOLE WORLD IS CRAZY DOC...IT"S NOT ME!!!" I complimented him, saying that he was only playing at being "dense." He cries that it's an insult, I guess I must have been giving him more credit than he deserved. He then insinuates that I am a child molester, go figure.
I'd say behind closed door Ferrari have told Mos & Ber that they will pull out of F1 if something is not done. That on top of all the people writting in.
Ted; you cant win here. Its a witch hunt. Do what I do and bolt the doors and wait for the mob to pass.
Go figure is right. That is your idea of a compliment... My child molester comment, like my reference to NASCAR, was illustrating a point. I guess this went over your head. I guess I will have to dumb down my rhetoric so you will understand it...
Yes, but the FIA did state that they would be addressing the flexible floor issue during the hearing. Nevertheless Ferrari will get the opportunity to present their case in the appeal. Hopefully more light is shed during those hearings.
Bingo! Or at least the threat of a prolonged messy lawsuit has got Moseley and the boys seeing the hole in their donut. Ferrari is hitting FIA in the place where they are most vulnerable: the potential of losing billions in the wallet as a result of bad PR. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys. Forza Ferrari
all i can say is thank god. it's unreal that mclaren was not penalized for breaching the sporting code.
