http://www.chuckchamblee.com/dom/fun/yankee_dixie_quiz.htm I'm "65% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!"
52% Dixie. Most of the stuff I clicked said "Common in Great Lakes ..." though, which makes sense, cause that's where I'm from.
file for " exempt " status. i am from california and am in georgia against my better judgement!!!! LOL!
48% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category. How is that possible when i was born and raised in the Bronx and have lived in NY my entire life (minus a year and half in CT)...? Hmmmm...
64% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score! Glad to see they recognize a sack is properly a poke if you put food in it.
"86% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors?" As a matter of fact, had one great great grandfather who was a general in the Confederate Army, and one great great uncle who was also in the Confederate Army. "The South shall rise again!"
I got 79% dixie, but at least 1/2 of my responses were from the great lakes region or country wide. Wondering how the score was computed.
%87 (Dixie) Did you have and Confederate ancestors? And yes, I too did. Louisiana artillery battery at Shiloh. Dave
My great/great whatever was marching with Sherman's army through Altanta. When Sherman turned and when to the sea, my great/great whatever missed the turn and ended up in Destin, Florida. This is on my mother's side. On my father's side, there were there or four brothers who left Virginia or West Virginia or was Pennsylvania? The ended up in Steelville, Missouri. Apparently, they were in a bit of hurry cause they didn't leave any forwarding addresses back where ever they were from. Me, I was born in the United States Naval Air Station in Key West, Florida. Clue up "Anchors Away, My Boys!" I always get a chuckle when folks talk about being African-American or Irish-Amercian or Asian-Amercian or what have you. All I can say is that I'm an American. Dr. "Born in the USA" Tax
80% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors? Yes, as a matter of fact. On both sides of the family
61% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score! Im a mut though. Born in California, moved to Canada when I was 2, spent 7 years in Texas, and Ive been here in Southern California for about 8 years
48% yankee (just barely, though). It's amazing how fast these things spread. I got sent this earlier today from a guy in my office. I'm not surprised to see how fast it's spread. Of course, by now, it's all over the world - although the nuances are probably not going to be understood by non native English speakers...
51% Dixie. Pretty odd considering that I've lived in Washington (state) my entire life. I think the test is more for those in the eastern half of the US. Oh well, it's still all in fun, right?
ost of my answers labeled me "Great Lakes". However, I've heard before that media is trained to talk "Great Lakes". So what we're use to and what we hear on TV is mostly derived from that area. I heard this a LONG time ago, can anyone back this up?
