I have to amend this statement. There were actually three of us that got the full ire from the cops as there were three of us that pulled up together to find four unhappy state troopers (and a sheriff).
What a great day! Each time I go out for a cruise with other Ferraris I just can't believe how much fun I'm having!!! A great day with a great group of people. Thanks to Furman (always keeping it exciting) for putting it all together and for a nice post run lunch. Mike (Blk 328GTB)
Since dates are starting to solidify, I'll throw my hat in. The 19th would work for me. OR, waiting a few weeks and going the first week in September (09/02). I realize that is Labor Day weekend so the road may be more crowded. FWIW, the Monterey weekend is on the 18th and I would like to give Sherpa32 a chance to attend the drive up; he is going to Cali for the weekend. I know you can't please everyone. What do people think about a 09/02? -F
I will definitely be in CA for the weekend of the 18/19 but the following weekend can work for me. The 9/02 is potentially iffy. Seriously, though, I don't want this whole thing to revolve around me so if I won't be there for the best date possible (which I would regret) then that's what has to happen.
Geez Ryan! We have to hold off so you can hob nob with the mucky mucks in Monterey? You and I can go another day. The 25-26 weekend is the Aspen deal so that's not good. Let's make it the 19th. I'll take care of Mario later. Dave
Come on, Dave. You're just JEALOUS! On a serious note, I don't think that everyone should wait for me. We can always go another time. You guys go the 18/19.
I just got the e-mail reminder that August 19 is the FCA road tour and brunch. Does this change anyone's plans? We could do the Mt. Evans summit in the afternoon of the 19th after the brunch (makes for a long day of driving)? We could shoot for Saturday the 18 for Mt. Evans and thus avoid conflicts with the road tour? We could pick a different weekend? What do you think?
For folks who live in the Boulder/Longmont area, the best (most fun) way to get to Idaho Springs is Lefthand Canyon to hwy 72 to hwy 119 to I70. You will have had a great drive before you even start the climb up Mt. Evans. I was driving on that route today, and it was pretty spectacular. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=nederland,+colorado&ie=UTF8&ll=39.939751,-105.514069&spn=0.435913,1.078033&z=11&om=1
Me too! So, stick with the plan for Sunday morning, Aug 19? Maybe we could end up at a pizza place for lunch or something after the drive.
