    Wow, BJ, congrats on the car, she is a BEAUT!!!

    Enjoy her in good health!!! One of the first things on my list was to take my Mom for a ride in my '94 Spider when I got it, she was 73 at the time. We cruised around Marco Island for a bit, she got out and said: "Wow, I never rode in a Spider before!"

    When the fam and I were goign to go out to dinner that night, I figured my mom reached her fill of Ferrari riding for her lifetime, low and behold, she walks up to the passenger side (the other vehicle goign to dinner was a Lincoln Town Car). I said: "Mom, do you want to ride with me?" She replied: "Well, it isn't every day that an old lady gets a chance to ride in a Ferrari!"

    I said: "Cool!!!, Can we put the top down?"

    73 year old Mother: "Well, it certainly wouldn't be right to ride in a spider with the top up, would it?"

    I'll never forget that

    Looks like a great car there BEEJAY! Sounds like you are really enjoying it so far. Nice posts. Give me a shout if you are ever travelling to South Florida. Our best mountain roads are at the county dump. :(

    Congratulations man! That's a great looking 348ts you finally got in your hands. Enjoy it! They are great cars! I still love my car after 6 years of ownership. Will get a new X-ost this summer, can't wait.

    Hey wow. My PM box was full. Lots of nice messages. Thanks guys (and gals) for all of the kind words and congrats. I'm starting to understand what the "Brotherhood" is all about. I will be at Concours Italiano on Friday August 17 and hopefully meet some of you.
    I didn't drive the car yesterday, and probably not today, but I'm driving it in to work tomorow, I cant wait any longer. I bet Bee Jay the Senior Engineer (nerd) gets some of the ladies attention. This car is a babe magnet right? I was told that. Don't tell the wife though.

    PS How come I don't have a center glove box like some of the 348s. Do they only come with the tbs?

    AFAIK the center console locking box is only on the early 348 models. Somewhat useful, but the catch gets stuck once in a while. Chick magnet? Not really, but kids will go crazy!

    Another reason to get off early today. Check on the Ferrari, see what Mom cooked, and get my Brotherhood Cap. Life is good. My son and daughter and two of my sisters will be here tomorow. Mom's fixing gumbo once everyone is here. This is going to be the best birthday ever.

    Congrats on the 348 and a Happy Birthday also - I was reminded of the day after I purchased my 355 and my wife could not find me in our house, luckily she saw the garage door light on, I was sitting in the car - we are all truly crazy - when people ask why I am so happily married after 20 years I respond I am allowed to have an Ialian mistress - it sits in the garage and I am with her every night, it doesn"t get much better than that.

    I drove the car to work today. What a fun car to drive. My coworkers freaked. Yes, it's my car. 197mph. Too much. Over and over. A few of them have been with me for years and know how much I've wanted to do this and were really happy for me. A new Corvette Z06 owner informed me that an oil change would require removal of the engine and would cost $10,000.
    The AC works. We had a warm day, so I tried it. Good cold AC. Over the last couple of days, I'm very glad that the front spoiler is black. I've grounded it a few times. OUCH! I filled it up, it took 18 gallons. My boss, who lives in Gilbert Az, and has two Ferrari's, was in town today. Even he was impressed. Everyone was surprised that I kept it a secret for so long. But that's the business I'm in, launching secret satellites. My son and daughter get in tonight. I can't wait to see their faces.

    Very cool BJ. Good to see you are still having a great time. It will be a while before you stop smiling when you drive at your 348!! 2 years on, I still grin from ear to ear when I take my 348 for a drive. I love it. :D:D
