I honestly don't know on the chassis.....when you look at the car the doors and mirrors are clearly LP, but again every thing else was new and very radical looking. Nose very defined like a jet. I didn't ask them on that. Remember, this was only a model that was 25% the size of the actual car so it's just hard to judge when you don't really see the real thing. In the video presentation is looked much better. I really want to see the real car. It may be at the LA autoshow they said. We'll see. The specs are 12 cylinders...that's really all at this point. They aren't sure what can be done to pass the US import laws yet so the tuning is still in progress but by the looks you'll be doing Mach 2 with your hair on fire ready to engage some MIG's in no time...

I’m hoping it will be something cool, but being that its designed after a fighter jet “fighter yet if your Roy” is a little discouraging in my opinion.

 

Is Luc still designing Lambo's? I bet it will look good- the NSX says it used a fighter plane as inspiration as well- and the end result was a black roof

Lamborghini is preparing a come-back on the auto market with a completely new supercar. The name was not yet revealed but what we do know is that the new Lambo will have a 7.0 liter V12 delivering over 700 bhp and with the AWD transmission the sprint from 0-100 km/h will be under 4 seconds.

This car is not the Miura Concept.
Mirrors and doors of the LP640? Well, if I spend $1.5m on a car, I want something totally new. From A to Z.
Looks like a jet fighter? To me, the only car that looks like that is the Zonda F.
Grey with green interiors? Not bad, I saw a Draco Green LP640 and it looks fantastic, but if so... Where's the "eject" button?

So let's wait and see... But I don't believe it will be a rebodied Veyron with a Lambo badge. That would be a suicide for both companies in terms of image and marketing.

 

I honestly think it is hit or miss with that. Porsche has not been able to sell the Carerra GT very well and it is starting to become common to find an SLR at below dealer cost just to get them off the lot. You can put Vector, Lotec, Isdera and host of others in that category as well.

It will be interesting to see if Audi can pull this one off. Without a doubt they are one of the few companies that could do it.

Roy, you know I love you buddy...no need for wienie fights...lol. It's all good. I can say since I was there and listened to the presentation they were very clear on the car coming in only one color and how special the color was. That was a bone of contention and a friend of mine who also is getting one was thinking of having it repainted when he gets it to match his taste. LOC actually sold 6 spots buddy...if you PM me I'm sure you'll know some of them. 2 live in LA but are LOC clients and 4 are OC residents.....I went with 3 others myself and we were given a choice of the # car we wanted from #2 - #20. They had already sold #1 prior to the showing. One buddy picked a number to match the number of his versace edition which I thought was cool. All great guys. Car is priced at $1 million euros flat and to get your car into production it's $300k. Again this was all factory not LOC. Let me know if your going to be in Monterey and we'll hook up and chat. This is riveting stuff. It begs a few questions that inquiring minds wish to know the answers to:

- How do they come up with $1.5m US? (asking a price like that reveals that the car must have a Murcielago chassis cast in solid gold)
- What guarantees are there that this car will in fact materialize and when? (after all, they dont even have a running/driving car...)
- What guarantees are there this will not turn into a series of 200 cars thus devaluing the initial investment of the 'chosen few'? (trust me on this one folks, I dont care what 'line' the factory is giving, no manufacturer will tool up and make just 20 units of any car, no matter what they are telling you now)
- What specification will the car have? (jet plane cockpits are cool but for $1.5m shouldnt it have ICBMs and an ejector seat?)

I think we should all wait and see.... As 2NA suggested with the Bowie lyrics (Im sure he is speaking directly to Automobili Lamborghini SpA): "Ground control to Major Tom, please take your protein pills and put your helmet on"... earth is calling. Come back down.
