look cut the bull$hit, you cannot justify your ridiculous "countach isnt a supercar" cr4p and you know it.
no one in their right mind would say that the F40 was the first Supercar ,you cant suddenly redefine a word because it suits your purposes.

the fact is the word Supercar was composed to describe the Miura and other subsequent similar cars - you cant retrractively change that.

Hard to come up with the top ten, as the Ferrari Daytona, Jaguar XK-SS, Ferrari 250 GTO, Lamborghini Diabo, Porsche 959, GT-40, and a few others should all be on the list. But with only 10 slots, here's what I came up with. I tried to base my decision on what each of these cars brought to the table when they were introduced, and not on my personal preferences, though the two lists would be similar.

So you ask, "Why no Veyron?" Here's why:
Weighs nearly twice as much as a F40
Needs twice as many cylinders, and twice as many turbos, to go 50 mph faster!
The FXX can go about 30 mph quicker than the Enzo without any turbos, about 150 more horsepower, compared to the Veyron's 500 more than the F40
But the FXX is roughly 1000lbs lighter than an Enzo

 

I had no clue the Veyron tips the scales at just shy of 6,000 lbs! (It doesn't), while the F40 does weight just shy of 3,000 lbs.
The FXX goes 30 mph faster then the Enzo? There are a few things about that which I don't know... But would require a few things to make it happen... or a combination thereof.

1. Less drag (It doesn't, while it's shape is more efficient, it produces more drag, and far more d/f).
2. Differing gear ratios then the Enzo (I suspect they are geared for just touching 200 mph, as most of the "fast" tracks which they are tested on they will reach the mid-high 190's.... such as Monza)
- Pure gearing to take the FXX to 254 [ the Enzo will reach Vmax in top gear and run out of RPM @ about 224 mph ]
- Larger diameter tires to take it to 254
- Higher RPM applicable (I suspect it is)

Are you sure the FXX is 1000 lbs less? I suspect it will tip the scales at a similar, but slightly heavier weight of the MC12 race car... but it could be less, as there is no regulated minimum... However, in numerous videos of the FXX I have seen it begin braking at the same spot as the MC12 race car does.. suggesting it is very similar.

Overall, my reasonably logical thoughts lead me to believe the FXX is not 30 mph faster then an Enzo... however, it is much faster around a track for obvious reasons. It possibly is hitting speeds 30mph faster on a back straight then an Enzo would.

As to my top 10's... I still stand by what I posted some time back, some pages back, unaltered
