308qv plug wire question ???

I'm sorry but, what black valve cover?

 

They've just been looped over the top of the rear distributor instead of coming out from underneath - otherwise looks pretty standard to me. Not sure I like the look.

Air pump?? Is that some piece of emissions kit? If so, no such work of the devil anywhere near my motor

 

Todd -- I believe that your "too short" problem on the 1-4 bank is that '83 US 308QV do use a different wire set on the 1-4 bank than the '84-'85 US 308QV (for the air pump reason that you noted):

'83 US 308QV (with an air pump)
1-4 bank wire set = 119245
5-8 bank wire set = 118826

'84-'85 US 308QV (without an air pump -- like all euro 308QV)
1-4 bank wire set = 118827
5-8 bank wire set = 118826

Check with your part supplier to make sure that you get the 119245 set for the 1-4 bank.

 

Mine go under the distributor but I don't have an air pump on my QV.(85')
