Has anybody heard Wolfgang play? He is being made to sound like he is the second coming.............just wondering if he will live up to the billing. And is he exclusively on the bass, or can/will he play some 6-string?

FWIW, my brother who is a musician and VH nut says he can't.(looks like he could stand to lose a few lbs.) Maybe they know something he doesn't. Plus Roth's voice is shot and can't hit the high notes. Alex VH has chronic neck problems. Finally Eddie has been on a downward spiral for a number of years hitting the sauce,(although out of rehab recently) plus tongue cancer(still smoking AFAIK) and two hip replacements. It'll be interesting to see how things go and hope they pull it off. :)

Now that is funny, Wolfgang looks like he has taken more after his Mom than his Dad.

Did you see those diet commercials with Valerie on TV lately? Man, she doesn't look like the hottie we all used to see on that sitcom she used to be on. Granted that was about 2 decades ago.

If a true VH was reuniting then Michael Anthony would be playing this tour as well in my opinion.

You're right. He was the backbone of the band and was the source of most of the back up vocals.

I am wondering how it will go also. I bought a ticket to the Boston show October 30th, so I hope that it goes well.

Here's a review from a guy that saw an exclusive dress rehearsal at the Staples Center in LA. So far so good. Let's see if they can keep it together.

"Van Halen Friends & Family Review
Posted by Adam on 09/18 at 11:47 AM

It took a few tries and a few trips to rehab, but it looks like the Van Halen reunion tour is actually going to happen, for good and all. The band has been playing a series of exclusive “dress rehearsals” for friends and family, giving a very select few a sneak peek at what is going to be, without a doubt, one of the biggest rock reunions ever and a hot ticket all around. Unless your last name is Van Halen, chances are you won’t have a chance to see one of these shows, but that’s why we’re here to help. We received this review, a swiped set list and a few awesome photos from a fan who managed to catch a recent Van Halen test run at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. "

I did not go to the show. But I did go out boozing with friends uptown this evening, and spoke with several people who did attend the VH show. They all said that it SUCKED because VH was not in synch and just seemed lifeless and unenthusiastic to be performing together. Based on what I heard from people this evening, I doubt that VH will complete the entire tour.

Completely opposite from what everyone is saying out in LA where they were doing the rehearsals.

From what I hear, they are sounding AWESOME. Eddie is on fire. Wolfgang can hold his own on bass, but is lacking on the back up vocals that Anthony would provide.

Who knows if they can get through a whole tour, but they are at the top of their game right now.

I have tickets for the Nov 25th show in San Diego. Fingers crossed that they can last that long.

IMO if Eddie is truly off the sauce then they'll be able to pull off the tour and cash in.(probably the main objective anyway) Wouldn't it be great to see Michael Anthony appear and take over for the kid?
