Any one know of a dealer who has a a shorter wait list for 430?

I'm ready for ridicule and negative comments but F-430's at $80K over sticker, those who buy at that price HAVE NOT DRIVEN A LAMBORGHINI

 

Ferrari OC has a silver F430 with 300 miles.

I'll bet in a year they're still above $65k. There are so few 430s out right now that if you don't have one, it's not a big deal. In a year, when there are more out on the road, the 430 will be the car to own. And the list will still be closed.

 

I wonder if that involves the services of your teenage daughter?

This situation is played out. I'm sure it was the same in 1999 with the 360.

If you want a 430 and don't want to pay $50,000 over list for it... you ain't getting one.

i know plenty of people got or are getting it at LIST price. and yes, those are the ppl HAVE A RELATIONSHIP with a dealer.

 

Exactly!! Why doesn't Ferrari capture this surplus itself? Seems like they're throwing money down the drain by not charging what the market is willing to pay.

 

If Lamborghini would make a car that anyone other than a midget could fit into, I'd be there. The Gallardo is just a joke ergonomically for something developed when the company was under VW control!

Murcie is even worse. I'm 6'4", 200#, and can't even get the door closed on the Murcie as it hits my knee. I fit in the 430 perfectly... hence not much of a choice for me in terms of Italian exotics!

When I found out that my 360 had a "story" I wasn't aware of when I bought it I gave it back to the dealer, vowing never to buy a Ferrari again. Naturally, the G car was the best alternative and I organized a test drive which pretty much ended the instant I tried to get into the car. I'm 1,95m (6'47") and my knees got stuck under the steering wheel

BTW same thing with the Porsche TT (albeit with the Multi-function Steering Wheel option)

Went for the 430 then. Definitely not regretting it but knowing that there's no real alternative kind of annoys me.

Old thread or not, the point still remains.

Why doesn't Ferrari in the US charge more for their cars and capture the surplus for themselves? If consumers are already willing to pay the price over MSRP, it does not matter whether it is the dealer or the speculator who makes the money.

This really never has made any sense to me!
