Happy Bday James, all the best !!! ENjoy your 20s...once you hit the 30s, it goes by like lightening brother !! All the best !
Why are you guys going through all this trouble??? if you want bang for your buck just wait until the new 700+hp Vette comes out, at least it's a newer engine and it's way more refined.
Are you sure? Have you seen the MT900s, or driven in one? It seemed pretty refined to me, and the fit and finish were excellent IMHO. Why not just buy a current Vette and add a blower or turbo, or NOS? the goal is not to have a drag race car, but I think more of a unique automotive experience. Style points count here! BT
No I have never driven one and to be perfectly honest I have only seen pictures on the net, and as far as finish I am pretty sure it is not as refined..... but my point was, it seems like the guys aren't getting anywhere with the RIV so if you want a powerhouse car which is going to give you the most bang for your buck there is a new Vette coming out with a 700+hp engine that is naturally aspirated, no blowers, no turbos, all reseached and developed by the manufactuer, under warranty has a dealer network for repairs, I can go on and on, also the mosler is going to cost over 200K by time you bring it in, and no you do not see them everyday but who really cares??? if he wants the "WOW" factor, there are plenty of exotics currently in Canada that are availible in that price range, and for bang for your buck well even the current Z06 is a great car. In the end if he really wants to get one well "Buona Fortuna"
I agree, however a Mosler would be the most unique car on Toronto streets if it ever gets over here. If you have the time and money, fighting for the car will not seem as bad, and in the end, the reward of seeing it on the driveway is worth the effort.
Ok, first of all I love corvettes, maybe too much. But in no way it does compare to mosler, its on another level. The new corvette you referring to, which I believe to be Blue Devil or SS, is rumored to have around 650BHP that is being supercharged, and slimmed down to 2900lbs. Of coarse that all will cost extra. And it is an amazing looking car, but you gonna be one of quite of few guys in Toronto owning one (if that is one of your concerns). Now take mosler, last time I checked it was about 2450lbs ( Actually I came by wiki and it said 2200lbs which is ridiculously light), supercharged at 7psi to 625BHP, do the math. Mosler is basicly a race car for the street, it has very stiff and at the same time light chasis due to all the carbon/kevlar in and out. Who would care about wow factor, its pretty stupid if thats all you would car in car selection. Even though mosler would provide ton of that. I;ve seen the car in person last year at Bullrun, and among many other exotics, there were spyker, multiple lambos and F cars and Mosler drew the most people. Again I think its very stupid reason to actually care about what others think or notice about your own car, your buying it for yourself, so enjoy... It's just badass car unique in everyway, and its built to be driven.
I love the look of the Mosler, the philosophy behind it and love a good fight......figure it will be fun to thrash at Mosport.... If we can get it approved I will actually go and drive one, I never drove the 430 before I ordered mine, but I figured it would drive like, well, a ferrari Cheers
i believe his main reason for buying this is not bang for the buck performance, yes that has something do with it but, its the total rarity of the car u will NOT see any in Ontario for a while if after this one is brought here Corvettes are everywhere, even the Z06 ... on my street alone there are 2 C6's Coupes, 1 C6 Z06, 1 C5 Z06 , 1 C5 Convertible
Whatever you do with the Mosler, (if you get it!) just make sure you post it all on YouTube !! Are there any existing videos of a Mosler being raced/tracked ?
The Mosler is, in my opinion, very dissimilar to any Ferrari. It is a very torquey machine with a much lower rev sound. Like a low slung drag racer. My engineer friend that works for Mosler is most impressed with the total carbon fiber chassis. Practically every discussion I have with him comes back to this point. I won't go into numbers, but for what you get the MT900s seems like a real exotic bargain. I think the Corvettes are good cars, but they seem to make too many things easy in a sports car. BT
One of the reasons I suggested a Vette is because thats the engine in a mosler, also it looks like mosler made a retro car from this GTP vette from the 80's, personaly I don't really care too much for the Vette either. It was only a suggestion, but it seems like he has his heart set on it; so again best of luck bringing it in. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here are some pics of a local MT900s that a friend of mine drove to meet me for lunch. Nice wheels! Man thats freaking sweet! For me its like one of those "optic illusion" pictures, if you look close you can see ferrari in background Though I think all carbon interior and race style speedo looks much better in it. Now ask your friend to make some videos please.
