Guys, I did a search and couldnt see if anyone has brought this up before. If you had a chance to give some feedback to Ferrari on what changes you would like done in your next F car, what would that feedback be? I am referring to minor things, comestic changes or aesthetic reasons. For example, I wish Ferrari had paid more attention to the design of the wheels on the 430. The protruding stem air valve is quite unsightly. Plus the centre cap logo could be a lot more refined looking. Looks very cheap currently. The paint work on the rims could be better too. I would also like a memory button on the driver's electric seats. Just one memory setting would be very useful so I dont have to constantly try to find my preferred setting each time I move the seats to clean the carpets, find a dropped coin, etc. The silver plastic controls on the 430 also look very cheap. I would have thought these small controls would be a lot more upmarket looking. I wouldnt expect Aston Martin levels of quality, but a more upmarket look wouldnt be remiss. Would like to hear any other comments too. Cheers...
I hate the (stock) audio system on my F430 (don't have the subwoofer option because i bought a used car).
Add cupholder as an option. Before you roll your eyes- these cars all come with cigarette/cigar lighters. Whats worse? Smoking or drinking while driving? If you take the view that one should not have a Starbucks while driving a Ferrari, do you feel the same about a cigar? I think they are the same- so there should at least be the option for the (growing) group of people who don't smoke but who would like to take a drink with them. If I take the car out for a nice spirited drive, I like to take a small water. The engine gets its proper fluids- you should too. JMHO. best regards, Jerry
Hey Jerry, your comments put a smile on my face. Can tell u are really quite passionate about having a cupholder in your F car. Ok, if Ferrari takes note of this thread, let it be known loud and clear that a cupholder option would really be appreciated!
Item 1 is relative to a 430, the rest is relative to a 360: 1. Better exterior and interior styling relative to the 430. I think the 360 is much better looking. 2. Better line of sight to instruments. Currently my steering wheel blocks the top 1/4 of the tach. 3. More comfortable dead pedal. 4. More comfortable shift paddles. 5. Seat memory. 6. Navigation and rear view camera. 7. Keyless entry and ignition. 8. Storage bins behind the seats.
Passenger side mirror tilt down option, when car in reverse, to protect my ball-polished wheels from curb damage. Maserati has it! Why not Ferrari?
yes, the tilt function would be very useful. I face the same irritating problem too of wanting to park as close as possible to the kerb but having to adjust the mirror all the time.
Side view mirrors that tilt for sure!!!!!!! AAA++++++++ Yes it makes it very difficult to parallel park at times. How about a center locking mechanism, don't know if the F430 has it, but my 360 does not. My wife would ask for better "vanity mirrors". The ones in the 360 are cheap and not even glass! LOL! Really you can't make out any image in those things! Don't need a better stereo, never have it on, not with a Tubi!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, yea, what the heck, one cup holder for Jerry! Got stick with friends! Robert
I would like Ferrari to build in some reliability so that a car with more than 3000 miles isnt considered diseased. If they could some how combine the styling and artistry of Ferrari with the reliability of Porsche THEN there would be the perfect car. Cars should be driven. Its an age old problem.
Two things: 1. "Blue & Me" hands free phone and iPod connect feature included on Alfa's, Fiat's and Lancia's. It's a shame that the 3 members of the family have this cool, updateable technology that actually works and Ferrari and Maseratti do not. http://www.alfaromeo.com/cgi-bin/pbrand.dll/ALFAROMEO_COM/tech/tech.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0443859219.1188146022@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccdaddlklgelgdcefecejgdfiidgnm.0&categoryOID=-1073801346 2. Interior climate control that is intuitive and works.
How about a remote front trunk release on the key fob and a gas cap release button that doesn't require the key to be in the ignition? I also agree with tilt function on passenger mirror and yes, a cup holder would be nice. Barry
I have a couple: 1) Front lift capability: Having test-driven Lambos, it is SO nice to be able to hit a button and drive confidently into/out of a driveway or gas station without having to use extreme approach angles. There are places around the bay-area I simply can't go with my car b/c of speed bumps (humps) or extreme -- for a Ferrari -- driveway/street angles. While I'd love to lower my car, I know I'd only invite more front-end scraping. 2) I agree tilt-down passenger mirrors are great, but I'd also like an auto-fold feature on my mirrors... again, like the G-car has. I'd use this feature everytime I park and it would especially help me get into and out of my garage as I like to park tightly against one of the walls. That's it for me. Frank
does anyone feel that a memory function for the electric seat would be useful..I think so but is it just me? Yeah, tilt down function would be nice to have.
Complete stealth technology incorporated into paint! Seriously... 1) front lift, for tough angle drive ways yeah copy the Lambo! 2) seat memory, one on the driver side for electric seats of course! 3) Metal dead pedal, just loke the other pedals! 4) Keyless entry & Ignition 5) Gas door release w/o having to have the key inthe ignition also when it is released how about a slow release and not a catapult launcher! 6) not so much for me but I give this to Jerry One cup holderto be used by driver or passenger
For the F430: - Pre-drilled holes in the passenger seat bracket to make it easy to mount a fire extinguisher there for track events (360s have this). The dealer mounted my fire extinguisher below the passenger-side of the dash using tie straps. This works fine but mounting it on the floor in front of the passenger seat would have been better. - Curved panarama-type mirror on the outside right mirror (passenger door) so that the blind spot on the back right of the car is eliminated. I have my right outside mirror postioned as well as I can and the only way for me to fully check my blind spot is to lean forward in my seat to check the whole area. - Keyless door locks and ignition using an electronic fob that stays in your pocket (similar to Lexus and Toyota's new fob). - Automatic fire protection system in the engine area. I believe these work by having plastic valve pieces that melt at a certain very-high tempature and set off automatic fire extinguisher canisters. Ferrari could claim that installing one of these is a strength (not a weakness) since it makes the car more "track ready". - Satellite tracking system similar to LoJack so that there is a chance of recovering any stolen car. - Keep the leather seats and center console but use black alacantra material on the upper dash so that we don't have to worry about dash leather shrinkage. - Adjustable side bolsters to the electric seats. - Cruise control. I know, some people are going to say this is nuts and that a Ferrari needs to be "driven at all times". However, when you're cruising on an open highway with the Highway Patrol behind you for 30 minutes or so, being able to set it to the speed limit has its advantages. - Include as standard equipment one of those fold-out windshield sun screens. The kind that fold down to about a 10 inch circle but open up so that they fill the inside of the windshield when they sit on the dash and behind the rearview mirror. It would be nice if it had some exclusive but subtle cavallino logo on it.
let's all go to Lambo dealer then my gallardo had everything we're talking about here but the auto extinguisher... it cost weights, but well I agree so much, I made Paris- Cannes, Cannes-Paris with my F430 last week, and my right leg is still hurting.... The seat are terribly design compared to porsche one.... I would enjoy an adjustable headrest...
