They call it an accident because it is politically incorrect to blame people for anything these days. He is a repeat offender, multiple speeding tickets etc. He believes has much more talent than he actually does, which leads to situation such as this. No matter what people want to say about him being experienced driving high powered drift cars he is not at a level where he can competently drive one. Look at this drifting career he has made a habit of destroying whatever car he was driving. He did something grossly wrong, and should be punished for it.

Many people on here have gotten hugh speedint tickets. We have membesr who has traveled 200mph+ on the road but yet we dont have threads talking bad about them. No its praised at their accomplishment.

I smell jelousy. Can you honestly say that you have seen him disrespect the things that he has? You have hung out with the kid alot to come to this conclusion? Ben Franlkin once wrote "Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see"

In conclusion would you trade the kid lifes before the incident? How bout after? After all it was an accident we have people on here that crash cars that are worth 3-4 times what that supra is worth and we dont bash them. Heres the supra forums thread http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=451924&page=4

I'm pretty sure that house in Clearwater is same one they lived in before the house they bought in Miami. Looks to me that they've owned that land since 1992 and built the house 10 years ago. I figured they wouldn't sell that place when they bought that house in Miami.

Regardless, that Nick kid is a crappy driver which what's been on his record.

Btw, did Kim's dad end up making it out okay or did he die?

That would be selective reading; the nature of the comments often depend on the circumstances - controlled vs. uncontrolled. In most such threads here, where the circumstances are on US public roads, some users will talk about how cool it is, other users will advise that the drivers should restrict that kind of speed to a track or closed course.

That house in clearwater, the original one, was on the market the whole time they were in Miami but it didn't sell IIRC. From what I read on a real estate site the house had tons of custom work in it and they asking price was high because of it. A house like that would sit on the market until the right person, willing to pay for it, comes along. The house also has a lot of sentimental value to Terry so I don't think he really wanted to sell it anyway.

Nick is 17, correct? What is the legal driving age in Florida...16?

That means that in that short amount of time Nick has been ticketed 5 times for going well over the speed limit. Often 20mph+

If someone gets 5 tickets for those speeds in less than 24 months then you can reasonably expect that he drives over the limits quite frequently. For every time you are caught speeding you have probably done it dozens of times. Would you really feel comfortable riding in a car with someone who has that kind of record and less than 2 years of driving experience?

You can't blame people for coming down on the kid and the fact that he has been enabled. The situation is very similiar to having an alcoholic who can't buy his own booze, has gotten black-out drunk several times, yet someone keeps buying him his next drink.

When they moved it was on TV that they had the old house for sale but I guess it never sold....Last I was told her dad was not looking to make it out but then I left TX and have'nt been around there much or talked to anyone to find out....I know that she has been in town alot since she moved and I was told that she looks like she is 35 years old from all the stress she's been under. Use to be a sweet girl but she had just made alot of very bad decisions:(

You do bring up many very good points. Nick is famous obvesely and he drives fast because most of the time he can get away with it. But in all honesty his tickets arent that big of a suprise for a 17 year old with those cars. 120mph comes awful quick in a car with 900rwhp of coure this will require alot of peddling to keep the car straight though. The kids DD is a SRT-10 Viper which is no slouch either and in the hands of a 16 year old is stupid. I think giving a car like that to many 16 year old guys would be a problem because even one little quick punch of the throttle and 1-2-3 shift in the viper will give him a speeding ticket. I Know what he did was wrong but he knows it. I sure as hell wouldnt want all these threads about me on the internet when i was in a time of hurting for a stupid accident like this.

Most of them clarified they were on the road. What track do you know of in America that lets you travel at 200mph+?

On a road with open land on both sides. Whats your point?

    None. I was just wondering

And actually, i have been in a car doing those kinds of speeds. The only thing was that it was a 288GTO in the hands of a guy whos been racing cars for 30+ years. Not a 17 year old with one too many tickets

I dont have a dog in this fight and wish those two kids involved a speedy recovery. Any parent who would put their teenagers in vipers/porsches/ferraris etc are out of their minds. I dont understand it..whatever happened to common sense?

In that specific thread people didn't always say where they did those speeds (so they left an out from criticism), even with that there were some that did say they did it on a track (e.g. Daytona), some said they were in foreign countries where laws may be different (autobahn), some that did comment that they don't do "stupid fast" on the roads anymore, etc. If you want to argue that individual posters are hypocrites, find their history and prove your point, but arguing that every poster on this site endorses unlimited speed on US public roads and so should stay quiet is just incorrect.

For whatever reason I am seeing several instances of misusing the words "a lot" by combining them into one word.

It is "a lot" instead of "alot."

Just a pet peeve of mine! ;)

A girl that moved from TX to FL, she has nothing to do with anything around here or on the board...He was asking about her dad because he was in a horrible car accident last year that was all over the news and papers.

I love people who can only exclaim others are jealous. Yes, I can. Multiple speeding tickets. He consistently speeds, with no regards. Yes, people here on this forum have probably been pulled over for speeding, but I highly doubt they've been pulled over 4 times in 1 year for doing 100Mph+ in multiple zones. I don't need to hang out with this kid to draw a conclusion. He's arrogant, feels he's at a whole 'nother level of drifting, and believes everything he has he earned. What on god's green earth do you have that would show me all that isn't true, and that he is a nice kid. I'm sure he's nice, but that doesn't mean I'm going to respect a punk who believes his so-called "career" earned him everything, and uses daddy's toys for multiple joyrides.

Why would I even be jealous of a kid GETTING CAUGHT by the LAW in the first place? Why would I care about driving a Supra 100Mph+ constantly? I don't care and there's nothing to be jealous of. Why would anyone be jealous of a kid who could very well get jail time after this stupid incident which is not even his first offense of speeding?

Please, show me the threads on FChat were these owners have bragged about their career, how they "bought" their toys, and that the consistently speed with the crash happening because they decided to do 100Mph+.

+1000; particularly with the kid's track record of speeding.....it's a shame. However, it's all history now and the only thing that kid can do now is hope and pray his friend makes it out alive and well. Otherwise, he's got a lifetime of shame, sadness and regret for his [unintended] action(s).

It will be interesting to see how the authorities respond to this and the ensuing fallout from the accident.
