I dont think they would get the chance to use it if the terrorists want to take bush limo down . They would probably use RPGs to take the preceeding and following cars.

With no protection available you have a stronger incentive to rapidly evaluate, engage and rectify the situation.

I doubt he would need it, also the sound in a "box" would deafen him.

He's a poor shot though, he didn't hit the camera once.

Bush needs a couple dozen of those following him around at all times.

You would think that there would be a camera sighted for the gun while the gunner remains inside operating the gun with a joystick.

or... maybe that's just a promo video and the real tech behind one of those gunship SUV's is.... CLASSIFIED

That has the makings of a Jay Leno monologue :D

"You know it's interesting that Bush needs a few of those around him at all times, whereas Bill Clinton always had SUV's loaded with hot wrestling chicks around him at all times"

I don't believe this is actually what is used in the Bush motorcade you would normally see. The product is the Dillon Aero M134D Gatling Gun (http://dillonaero.com/SM134.html). Shoots at an average rate of 3,000 rounds per minute.

I'm going to guess this is more for officials overseas in Iraq, or The Ghan.

Mini guns are great, but in previous attempts on Presidents lives the attacker is usually around a lot of innocent people. How do they plan on keeping that thing on target or are they willing to accept serious collateral damage? Seems like a waste of tax dollars for a new toy and not likely practical.

    Though, I wouldn't mind one............

Yeah, that isn't for the presidential motorcade here in the US. The SUVs they use here are just filled with lots of guys with guns.

    Pretty damn cool though!!! :D

Way too much MTV. Way too much testosterone. Not enough knowledge. Not nearly enough simple common sense. Several tons of dumb. IMHO.

I don't think the Mini-Gun is for anti-personnel purposes, per se - that firepower would immediately stop any commercial vehicle made, and kill every occupant inside. It has some tactical purpose....its perfect for any 'hard' vehicle threats. Jesse James used one on Monster Garage one year, hosing down one of the show 'failures'. One long, sustained volley rendered the vehicle/target a swiss-cheese pile of burning scrap.
