What a PITA. My 2007 430 has been sitting for less than 3 weeks, it has about 850 miles on it. Yesterday I hit the start button and click, click, click, click. Hooked up a Tender Plus and tried to start it this AM. Click, click, click, click. Detached the (-) terminal from the battery, reattached and turned the key to the II position for 10 sec. Getting a CST error and now no clicks, just the sound of pumps. I've got a call into the dealer. Any thoughts?

I had a similar experience with my 05 after not driving for two weeks. A new battery was in order.

    Disappointing isnt it? :(:(

New car, 2007 with 850 miles on it and the battery is ****ed!! :(:(

Get the dealer to come out and fit a new battery mate, that will fix it. :):)

I had exactly the same issue. Bad cell in the battery. Dealer said faliure rate of new battery source high. Replaced with domestic (US) battery. no more issues.

Un F'ing believable. Porsches, MB, Audi, even VW, I've always stuck with German cars and I see why. They may have an occasional problem, but they never let it go on and on. Batteries, exhaust brackets, what else am I in for?

I've had a 330GT since '74 and it's been rock solid. Never left me stranded. I've always admired Ferrari; the man, the cars and the racing but this is inexcusable in 2007.

I agree. I bet you have a bad cell in the battery and it's not holding enough charge to turn the car over. So all you hear is the starter struggling to move the engine. 99% of the time you hear that clicking, it's the battery.

The manner with which the dealer addressed my battery situation (didn't order new Ferrari part), the factory may not even be aware if the battery failures in the field???

Never the less, I feel your frustration. In fact, to pile on, I had my 360 for 2 1/2 years and never plugged it in; my F430 Spider went dead in the 1st 2 weeks. My dealer suggested that I plug it in even if I drive it everyday! Recently ordered a new F430 coupe and now the battery tender is included as a standard "option" from the factory. One step forward, 2 steps back...

seems like these cars need a lot of juice and battery tenders are standard

No, these cars need a battery that deserves to be sold with a $250K car! There is no excuse for this to happen. The battery tender is just a band aid fix for an un-excusable problem. I'd be pissed.
