We did a drive yesterday of around 100 miles blasting up Pacific Coast Highway with the top off running a gauntlet of police and being chased by 4 other cars including Maserati, Porsche and other Ferraris. Have a look at just one of the videos we did last summer here: http://www.archive.org/details/MichaelHaschkaFCASoCalSummerRun070106 Some fun visuals and sounds in this one! Also a "real" car, used in "real" ways. Just because I don't drive it to the grocery store doesn't make it a queen! Thanks for the support of those that have voted for my car!!
Guys, First congrats on all your beautiful Ferraris. I'm on vacation so i have time to check out this whole thread. All i can say is WOW!! If i could, i would put a vote on everybody's Ferrari. Cheers, Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login
Surprising voting ... I saw several cars in here that were equally amazing (even with my bias for non-red).
I just went through the pictures and, though it has been a while since I was an FCA, 308 judge, here are my results. Each car started with 100 points and then points were deducted from there. Since I couldn't check that the car runs and that the electricals work, I was extra cruel when it came to 'scuderia sheilds', aftermarket pedals, floor mats, and the like. If your car really came with, say a RED dash, shields, or foglights etc, then let me know, I am always learning. Not all were judged because, either there were not enough pictures to tell, or I missed the pictures. Since I came up with a 4-way tie based on points, I am going to give it to Mike308gts, because, well, this is a '308' contest and a Mondial is a Mondial, and a 328 is a 328 etc. (I'm just using an arbitrary criteria as the tie-breaker) *****Four Top finshers: 100 points***** davem mondial Gerry328 jay911 Mike308gts *****Close, 99 points (perhaps some others also?)***** Whiskeyman = mats zeus = mats discoinferno = knob CLIMB mats, front grill black? davebdave = floor mats davebuchner= exhaust TK328 =trim comming up near rear window? *****The rest: 98 or less (in no particular order)***** mreus = red piping on seats, mats, michael B = wheels,, bumpers color, pedals vtc4198 = red dash???, rust on oil filler cap rival = wheels, sherpa23 = wheels, mond32red = grill, wheels, black paint on plenum, shields, lougalladio = bumper, exhaust sheild, engine spiderseker= knob, pedals, mats jonnyS= pedals, mats Dom = knob, pedals, seat upolstry, wheels mark lintott = shields, extra 'ferrari' below rear plate, non-original color, ignition system, doug328 = knob, mats, pedals smg2= knob, door speakers, pedals, bumper color?, window sticker s, wheels, engine allens = fca sticker, jump start connerctor?, luckydynes = intake plenum not painted, air cleaner gone, plug wires, garciacg= wheels, sheilds, knob, extra front emblem, steering wheel impacto = shields, mats, knob, pedals x 3, bumper rfking = shields, seat belt pad, snj5 = shift knob, shocks, brake rotors, exhaust, dstacy = shields, pushed in bumper, speaker in door, cavallo-nero = shields, exhaust, air cleaner, ignition, james in denver = fog lights, red wrinkle coming off engine, exhaust shield, wheel color? thumpnyc = sticker on back, mats tMan= weels, shields, shift knob, accel pedal only, Hans= F-stickers in engine comp., exhaust, unpainted coolant tank, steering wheel, pedals, shift knob, brake handle plastic hank sound =mats, pedals, knob Franc308 =shields, exhausts, mats davem (308 gt/4) =shields, air cleaner nuts, mats, wteering wheel, door speakers, NYJETSFAN =window sticker(fca), rear speaker, mats, metal pedals, extra trunk items x 3, dogue= mats, shift knob, exhaust betelgeuse= mats, paint on intake plenum, license trim advertisement. Whatever you say - THE car in this poll for me is Franc308 `s silver arrow! It shows the original body design without any ...eh...additions to make it legal....and its not red! Ciao! Walter
I think there probably would be other things to deduct points in a true concours/FCA meeting, including hose clamps and such. However, I'm wondering about 2 things... 1) Several people have said that the red wrinkle on the engine/cam covers had to be done by someone after it left the factory, but to my knowledge, this engine hasn't been out of the car (well, it DID have a clutch put in 16 years ago, is that engine out?). The red paint is also on the motor mount. I believe it has peeled due to higher heat, I'm troubleshooting the cooling system now. 2) The wheel color is definately darker than silver, but again, it does not appear that these were painted by a prior owner, however, the spare does appear to be silver, not granite. Is there any way that my car, an 84 US QV, could have come with the "granite" wheels and the painted engine/cam covers from the factory? === sorry to hijack the thread === James in Denver
Beta, I understand the spirit of what you're saying in your post. You have a good eye. I'm not nit-picking or arguing, just sharing intersting info. Those bumpers aren't pushed in at all; those are the bumpers covered in the Tech Revision issued by the factory in 1975. All unsold cars were to have the old bumpers removed and the new bumpers installed. Here is a link, it makes quite interesting reading. http://dino308gt4.com/downloads/TechRevs-308GT4.pdf
*****Four Top finshers: 100 points***** davem mondial Gerry328 jay911 Mike308gts Thanks. Actually its true If someone was to enter my car into a Judging event they would win a Platinum award. It still doesnt help me here since im friendless....lol.... The only one who voted for me was me...

If your matts have the ferrari Logo or the name they are not from the factory like that. Do they have that? At least thats what I have been told. Nice car...
Hey gang, Was this the the Fchat Concours? If the intent of this online competition was for the purpose of unearthing the most original and perfect 308/328/Mondial, I think that I screwed up by putting Daytona inserts in my seats.--------------Nah----------I love em'. And guess what, the Factory does know who Rachel is Cheers, Hank
Thank you. I have the originals (no logo or name) and aftermarket with the logo Pictures for this contest are the originals. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Although, you did not mention me/my car by name, your brought up the red dash etc. The red dashboard/2 tone interior is original and the car has been in my family since new. This car has recieved no aftermarket treatment other than adding the alpine radio/cd player and removing the delete plate. I have seen one other 328 with a red dashboard but the entire interior was red (exterior was metalic black) and I have also seen a silver 89 or 90 TR with a red dashboard and those cars were original also. Just thought I should bring this to your attention. Best regards, Dino
Nope. If that were the case Sherpa23 would not be blowing all of us away in votes. Sherpa23 has a NICE 328 GTB. I believe it's his GTB, with the desert background, that I printed from F-Chat and have displayed on my desk
Fine-------I'll help hang the banners and paint the posters and body boards!. But first, I must know that our candidate will fight for the rights of ALL older Ferraris. We must have services available to help those older vehicles with their aches and pains. We need full coverage, with a guaranteed check to EUGENIO'S for that service that will keep our "Ground Pounders" (pounding?) No more wine-------------- cheers, Hank
