My Cizeta V16t photo shoot

Now THAT is a rare sight. How much do those trade for? Are they serviced at Lambo dealers?

Hi Gilles, yes Monterey and California were fantastic this year for me, i got to see and sit in many high end exotics, and went for a ride in the Cizeta! I see the news about Vector! as for my other photos look in the Supercarfrance threads. Alan W

Does this Cizeta have UK plates under the US ones?

 

Hi Greg, i didnt get a ride in the Vector, just saw it. Apparantly those are U.K. plates on the Cizeta, i do remember seeing one for sale in Car magazine about 10 years ago, it might have been this one, as there are only 10 in existence at the moment, with 2 more to come in the near future. It was an amazing experience to actually get a ride in such a rare gem, and i couldn't believe the amount of space inside. It really is very roomy compared with not only other exotics but even normal daily drivers, and im not a svelt guy!!

Don't be sorry for only taking 2 shots of the interior. Of all my car magazines, I don't ever remember seeing ANY picture of the interior of this car. Thank you for sharing your pictures on a beautiful and truely "Rare" car!!

I love this car so much. Almost 15 years later it still looks amazing.

 

I'm glad some of you appreciatte my efforts, and for those upset over lack of engine photos heres a couple. I'm more into car looks, than engines aesthetically.

I feel sorry for the owner. I bet everywhere he goes, people call it a Lamborghini.

 

Tell me about it, for my sins i submitted a picture to Exotic spotter (sorry i know, but i couldnt help myself) and they listed it as a Lamborghini Diablo!!! I even told them exactly what it was! I know Claudio gets quite upset / annoyed with people thinking its a Ferrari or Lamborghini, and you cant blame him.

 

Kind of ironic considering gandini designed this body pretty much as a prototype to the diablo. Gandini also penned several other lambos including the countach. That's like building a car, having pininfarina design the body, and then complaining that people think it looks like a ferrari.

Very cool car. I remember reading about it in the late 80s when everyone was touting it as the successor to the countach.

 

That is a really cool car and the pictures are great. The double headlight design on this car sort of reminds me of the "family truckster" from the movie "Vacation".

 

I remember reading about that car in high school! My friends and I just kept saying "it has a friggin' V16!"

That design has aged much better than I would have expected. The detailing on the cam covers is a nice touch.

It must be insane to work on that motor. I wonder how you get to the forward side of it. Is there access thru the passenger compartment?

One would think that a tune up would be an expensive proposition.

Just saw this thread. Claudio brings the Cizeta to local shows a lot. Nice guy with wonderful stories about the car, his time with Lamborghini, and his encounters with the rich and famous. I have a whole gallery of stuff we shot at the Art Center College of Design Car Classic in '06. Cool car, but it does get mixed up with a Lambo all the time. Considering this came out a year before the Diablo it stings a little because it doesn't share a single element with that car. The other long-standing incorrect assumption is that the V16 is a pair of mated V8s from Ferrari or another manufacturer. Totally false. It's a unique design. It even still gets referred to as a "Cizeta-Moroder," which was just the name affixed to the project. Moroder was a backer that pulled out very early on. A fun car that sounds like nothing else on Earth. These never come up for sale, but you can actually still commission a new one if it's your cup of tea.

That car is not a true Cizeta anymore, as it has had its V16 removed and replaced with a 512 TR engine. Last seen it was also in pieces and needed rebuilding, and renovating. Although i emailed the seller and he claims he has restored it, but id like to see pictures before i believe that as it would have been a major job, and Claudio himself said it would not be possible to return it to original V16 spec. I think the seller has posted here before so maybe he'll see this thread and post some pics of his restoration, id like to see them.
