Anyone Ever Order Braided Hose From This Place?

Looks like weatherhead hose in metric. NAPA sells 5/8" ID (15.8MM) weatherhead for $5-$6 a foot.

 

Hmmm... I was thinking about replacing the fuel/water hoses on the testarossa too...

Finding the braided stuff is almost impossible. It is available in some limited sizes in the porsche/bmw communities...

Would it be "accepted" to replace it with regular fuel/radiator hose??? Also, try to find the original clamps...I have had zero luck.

Seems to me that a lot of folks in the ferrari community look down on using more mundane replacement parts, but getting the original stuff is near impossible...

What are others using? Gates? etc?

 

Use whatever hose is appropriate (always better than keeping the old dried out stuff just because it's original).

Just be sure to use the correct hose for the application.

Coolant hose for coolant

Only fuel hose for fuel

 

Look at the picture below.

The short hose is what I just replaced with the other hose for the fuel tank to pump run.

Same thing, or so close that there is no discernable difference..

Does napa have it in many other sizes? Good find. I checked autozone/etc and couldn't find it...

 

Summit has a good selection of SS braided hose that does not require AN fittings

 

Yes, I believe that they do.

 

For all my hose replacement I use Industrial hose and supply in Shohola, Pa. 570-296-5551 and as for steve. they do very nice custom work.

They can reproduce just about anything from stainless braided oil line to cooling hoses and ship it to you.

They also have a machine that is certified to make custom stainless and rubber brake line.

Christ alive don't order anything from Demon Tweeks. I ordered braided hoses, they sent the wrong size, sent them back, they sent the wrong ones AGAIN, sent them back, they finally got it right but wouldn't refund me all the postage costs even though they were complete idiots in the wrong.

 

I've always had good experiences with Demon Tweeks, but they're not usually the cheapest. I've just ordered a load of big diameter (-16 & -20) s/s braided oil hose & fittings from Summit and it works out about 60% price including the shipping to UK
