What has this got to do with Alonso? As much as I dislike him I think it is a bit unfair to compare him to this situation. He was never in such a hypothetical scenario to suggest that Lewis would be as bad as him should LH has the above train of thought.

Clarification: WMSC yet to decide on verdict

By Steve Cooper Thursday, September 13th 2007, 15:09 GMT

The World Motor Sport Council has yet to agree on a final verdict, despite our earlier newsflash suggesting otherwise.

Sources have told autosport.com one of the options currently reviewed is to exclude McLaren from both the 2007 and 2008 championship - in line with the World Motor Sport Council's decision in July.

However the FIA said no decision has yet been made, although a verdict is expected imminently.

I would really like that all the evidence is disclosed. This is the harshest penalty ever given by the FIA in its entire history. So, I hope the punishment fits the crime. I would expect nothing else other than clear proof that McLaren used the Ferrari info in developing their car which made it as fast as it is. Thats a punishment that fits.

Sadly, I fear Mosley has a woody for Ron Dennis and this was his big chance to deck him with a sledgehammer. This will likely play out in legal courts for months and months.

McLaren has always been Ferraris chief rival in F1. If they are removed from the competition in this way, it is a VERY dark day for the sport. Very dark indeed. McLaren is a great competitor with great talent and lots of great people. This could mean 1000 men and women losing their jobs, and McLaren as an F1 brand disappearing.

How can any of you celebrate that? Its sad for the whole sport.

Typical FIA morons. Can't even get a press release correct.
Next thing you know they will be finding people guilty and then not doing anything to punish them....

I'd rather see them out for 6 races than docking all WCC points and letting Alonso and Hamilton race....

    +1

I can see Dave Richards buying Lucifers palace in Woking if this is the outcome - But, it does seem that the reports have been "exaggerated" at this time.

So if McLaren is not eligible for constructors points, how hard will the team work for the drivers if they are still racing?
